Looks like team tennis did count for Abilene Wylie after all.

My bad. It says team tennis only counts at the 4A & 5A levels. We still have boys and girls golf, track & field, and baseball to go, though. I don't know if wrestling is done and settled yet, but thought it was.

Team tennis only counts for 4A and 5A...unless something has changed that I don't know about.

Little 'ole Lorena there again with all 500 students. Number 8 even though the boys basketball did not get out of district this year. Girls BB going to Final Four didn't hurt. Swimming and Diving weren't so good this year though.

Can somebody explain why major sports like baseball, girls softball, and track & field aren't included in the standings? It can't be because of the time of year. The CUP is usally awarded after the school year is over is the summertime anyway, right?

Those points will be figured into the equation after those seasons are complete. There's a full explanation on UIL page if you wanna check it out.

Wow, Southlake Carroll is running away with it in 5a, leading 2nd place Flower Mound Marcus by 18 pts. and Reagan by 20. But I guess it ain't over til it's over, and Marcus could make a late run and catch them. Or maybe even one of the other schools, but they would have to make up alot of margin.

if tennis did count for the 3A lone star cup wylie would run away with the title each year.

this week capped off another great year for wylie tennis. 2 of the wylie seniors now have 7, yes 7, state tennis championships. 4 team tennis and 3 individual titles.

Argyle girls double team won state against a good Abilene Wylie doubles team. Argyle's duo lost only 3 sets all year, and naturally went undefeated for the season in women's doubles. Not sure how the other Argyle competitors did, but do know we had some other players at the tourney in both boys and girls divisions.

Argyle's short history as a high school with 4 full classes(fresh-seniors) dates back to 2003-04 school year as a 2A. In 2005-06, won Class 2A Lone Star Cup. In 2008-09, won Class 3A Lone Star Cup. In 2009-10, placed 2nd in Lone Star Cup(Lucas Lovejoy 1st). In 2010-11, placed 2nd in Lone Star Cup(Lucas Lovejoy 1st). I'd say that's pretty impressive stats considering Argyle had less than 650 total enrollment and now has only about 660. Schools having 850-999 have a distinct advantage just with the sheer numbers working in their favor for all the categories involved. I don't think Wylie will "run away with it" in any shape or fashion or form if Argyle is competing, LOL.
