The Broncos got Peyton Manning for five years, $96 million.

To me that is too much.

They made the playoffs with Tebow last season! Manning should put them in the Superbowl....................................... would he then be worth that much?

You bet ur arse he'll be worth that much if he puts them in the SB. Besides, I doubt that 96m is all guaranteed money. Marler, how much of that is guaranteed no matter what? Haven't been keeping up with all the madness.

That is right if he gets them to the SB. But that is a big IF. If not the answer is no and the Broncos have made a big blunder.

Past performance is no indication of future results.... or are they?

Well, it's all a gamble in this sport. It's just my opinion but, i like their chances with Peyton. Hey, i'm not a big fan of Peyton in general but got mucho respect for his skill at the position. Look at it this way, They stand to lose no more money than Dallas has sunk into Romo and their chances are better. "Now that's funny as hell, gotta admit". Seriously, I'd take a banged up Peyton over Romo any day. Only thing is, they better be able to offer him good protection cause he will not be able to Tebow-up and run for a first down like he did and we all know peyton is a pocket passer as well. It will be interesting to say the least.

A source told ESPN business analyst Andrew Brandt that Manning will be paid $18 million in 2012.

He will be paid $20 million in both the 2013 and '14 seasons if he passes a team physical to be given 10 days before the start of the 2013 league year. There is an injury waiver included in the contract, however, covering Manning's surgically repaired neck. If he re-injures the neck during the 2013 season, the Broncos will not have to pay his 2014 salary.

He is scheduled to make $19 million in both '15 and '16, but must pass a physical before each league year.

Manning will make $18 million in 2012 with no injury protection. If he passes a March 2013 physical, guarantees of $20 million will activate for 2013 and 2014, with an undisclosed injury waiver. Not as risky as it may seem.

Even if he doesn't play for five years, I like my chances having Tebow learn from one of the best passing qb's in the game. That is if Tebow is willing to play second fiddle for a few years?

Very good point. I was kinda hoping Tebow would stay to learn from him and in the event Peyton does get knocked out of the game. Could be a good opportunity for Tebow other than a starting job.

A better team for Peyton, no doubt. Maybe(?) a great move for the Broncs, maybe not. 49er's and Smith staying pat, and probably the right move. I still see them as the favorite for the Superbowl next year. Cowboys have alot of holes to fill and questions to answer.

Manning doesn't stay healthy very long and the ponies make an early exit; if they do make the playoffs.
