Another screw up by the Texans who should have paid him what he wanted

They need to focus on Myers and Brisiel right now. They have 60% of their starting OL on the market.

Well the only positive thing the texans have done thus far is resign Arian

Sources saying Mario's deal is for 6 years, potentially worth up $100 million and $50 million guaranteed.

Buffalo is building a nice little team. They got a decent offense and their defense is slowly improving.

Why? He didnt play this year and they had the best defense in their history. He's been "good"....but certainly not "great". They would have been ignorant to pay him what Buffalo did. The only screw up is that they should have traded him prior to free agency.

To think Houston wasted the chance to get Vince Young and took Williams instead. What a wasted opportunity.

They'll probably have another opportunity as his contract is for one year and ends in July of this year. Hope the Texans are still wise enough to not hire him. Make the Texans twice as smart?

:iagree: Bufflo as I call um are some dumb A's for paying that. The boy is good, but NOT that good... I just want the 2 O-line hogs to sign. Texans better make that tops!!!

I think this will prove to be another master stroke by Rick Smith. They let Williams get an offer that could not be matched, and now the Texans know what they have available to offer Myers and Brisel and maybe have enough left over to even bring back Winston.

Like your thinking,---BUT--- listening to 6-10 radio today Winston is gonna get a BIG offer, and has 5-6 teams int. in him. Meyers may end up in Bud Adams hip pocket, anyway, all 3 are highly sought after. Smith better get with it quick???

I'm not sure the Titans will be able to afford Meyers. They already signed Steve Hutchinson and are in the running for Peyton Manning. But you're right, the front office need to get things in motion. All we've done is lose players this off-season. Its time to keep the good ones and bring in the few pieces needed to make this year's team a legit contender.

Agree, I don't think he was all that great, just darn good, but also some guys stepped up that IMO will be better or may be better. Best D Houston has ever had. An average QB had them in the AFC Championship game. I don't feel like the kid is the future by any means at qb. Second stringer at best.

Bad decision by Mario. Should have stayed a Texan

Bad decision to leave a franchise that is no longer enamoured with you to become the highest paid defensive player ever? Uh....I disagree.

I thought Connor Barwin did a great lob last year after MW got hurt...plus he's less expensive.

Well, we kept Myers but lost Brisel. Worst case scenario has not come to fruition. The line may take some time to gel, but considering the backups had adequate playing time due to injuries, the curve shouldn't be that bad. Having 11 retuning starters on defense will give the offense some time to come around. Now if we can just get another play-maker at WR.

Awesome. And I think a fair deal for both sides. Doesn't seem like we overpaid and glad to have him back.

Just as a side note, I think Kevin Walter should've gotten cut. He makes way more than he's worth.

Maybe after the draft. No real depth at WR right now. Crazy to think that Walter would get cut before Jones, but he's up their in age and price.

How about Georgia Tech WR Stephen Hill? He had a great showing at the combine. Great size(6-4,215 lbs), ran a 4.36 40. Could end up being a steal. Someone to consider if he is still there for the Texans.

He had a great Combine and you can't argue he's a physical specimen.

I think Walter is a solid player. Always amazes me that he gets open all the time when he 's too slow for the NFL.

Maybe I'm just blind but I thought Walter hardly every gets open, ESPECIALLY when andre went down. It's like he disappeared.

Get rid of Jacoby Jones before you ditch Walters. I see Walter as a Wes Welker type player, not as good as Welker, but a similar type player.
