I agree............. we watched "Undercover Boss" a couple weeks ago - they were on a fishing boat and showed what they make fish sticks and "imitation crab meat" out of............ OMG..... :ack!:

if we all had to watch how bolony was made we wouldn't eat it either. Personally I love bolony and can tolerate fish sticks (especially if I've been smoking pot and am really hungry). Putting ketchup on crackers is really good too if youre hungry enough. I've eaten a sardine sandwich before.

I honestly don't remember the name of the fish but it showed this huge room in the bottom of the fishing ship and it was full of "parts" and leftovers and they literally shovelled it into a vat and boiled it or steamed, not real sure - and then it was sent off to be processed into "whatever" Those guys on the fishing ships have a dangerous job - conditions look horrible and they are gone for a long time.. I assume they make good money but have no idea really. talking about not knowing what's in what we eat - a few years back, when we were making sausage - there was an old timer from Yorktown who came to "help" - well, I found out what he really wanted was our "leftovers" to make "blood sausage" aka "liver sausage" OMG - he took just about everypart of the deer and hog (that we didnt' use for sausage or hamburger meat) and he boiled those parts in this cauldron for hours with onion and garlic. Then he ground it all together and stuffed it and smoked it overnight - he said folks from all over had placed orders for it.. Some people call it "head cheese" too........ He used to say he put everything in it, including the SQUEAL :eek:
