Anybody got a current ranking? The Bulls are off to a great 9-1 start this season and should be in the post-season hunt.

Why is Sinton good in baseball every season?

I believe it is more a strong LL program and tremendous facilities.

Here's a THSBCA preseason poll...maybe there's something more current out there though.

Argyle seems to be a fixture in boys team rankings this season.

Wonder if Sinton's move in from Taft finally was clear to be on the team by the uil and gets to play today or pitch against Odem tonight at Whataburger Field.

Our local Little league has no bearing on our High School team, it is all about select ball. Little League in LG is free babysitting service, if you like that then by all means play. Just depends what you what out of it for your kid, it is not for all but really good for some.

As good as Sinton's recruiters are, I'm sure everything will be just fine.

Joking aside, I think Sinton's Little League program is probably the most contributing factor for their high school's success in baseball. It is my understanding that Ingleside has 2 youth leagues because the parents can't get along. That probably doesn't help with the kids developing as a team when they get to high school.

I like the way Sinton is setup, they get to have as many kids that want to play a chance to play through the little league system. Sure some do both but the bottom line is they all got playing time by the time they reach HS and the coach at the HS level gets lots of kids to work with instead of a select few.

In real select baseball( Wings,Houston Heat,Sliders,Angels,ABS, Slam and many other teams) daddys are elinminated, are outside the fence. Little League, daddys on the field and in the stands coaching their kid's only, not gonna get you to the next level. It is all about what the kid wants out of baseball, if he wants to play LL then get after it and be behind.

We have THE best coaching staff in the state. Period.

We don't need to recruit, but if you want to believe we do - more power to you. Our tradition speaks for itself.

No more Alaniz boys, but Adrian is now part of the coaching staff. :)

Little Leauge or select baseball, it doesn't matter as long as they are playing and getting reps in. Select ball does have an edge over LL with the level of competition kids will face.
From age 9 to 13 it's all about getting reps in.

If you don't think the parents have anything to do with select, think again. Who is plunking down hug sums of money and time for thier kids to be "on" the team? Those owners and coaches catch hell all the time because Johnny is not getting enough playing time or pitching on Sundays. My coworker is the manager of a high dollar 13-14 team that plays those that you mention. I have read the e-mails. Oh and the parents do coach. Moms too.
It's all a status symbol. If not, the kids wouldn't wear their t-shirts, sweats and hats to watch LL, highschool or MLB games.

I am sure there are still parents that complain however I know as for as playing with the Houston Heat you can complain all you want however things normally stay the same, as long as we have played with the Heat we have not had any daddy's coaching other then Woody Williams and Roger Clemons has worked some with the pitcher. Most parent did not seem to mind them working with their sons, me either. If you have a mom coaching then you are on a special team, good luck with that. Keep playing LL , nothing wrong with it for certain kids. There is a league out there for every level of kid, that is why they have LL. Some good memory's working with some kids that were just excited to catch a fly ball or to just make contact. Everyone can choose what route is best for their kid, just not many kids can go to the next level without competing against top level talent. Just the way it is, like it or not.

I have retired from all things related to coaching kids and have moved on to true select sports..the NCAA.
