A few reasons why Celina Texas is a special community: we still have regular pep rallies; when the kids do something special (like qualify for state) $4,500 is raised in 2 days to get them a nice charter bus to go in; we have a "send off" where the whole high school and faculty line the hallways to cheer and encourage them, then gather in the cafeteria for a few words from Coach Davis Senior; OUR COACHES/FACULTY STILL OPENLY/PUBLICLY PRAY WITH, AND FOR, OUR KIDS as they did just before the gathering ended; the Celina Fire and Police Departments send vehicles to give the team bus a lights and siren escort out of town; 2 miles down the road the Middle School kids are lining the road with signs to cheer as the convoy passes; hay bales painted orange with words of encouragement for the girls along the highway as they leave town; and finally, we will have hundreds of fans make the 4 hour drive to Austin for the game tomorrow....who are not related to any of the girls playing.

Here's a secret, pretty much all towns, esp small towns support all the kids. Looks like recruiting is paying off. Wasn't it a few years ago CISD offered Jordan's dad a job to get her over there for her Sr year of high school? And now Stastny with his 2 girls over there?

 And anybody who thinks that this doesn't help those kids is crazy. All good programs can tell similar stories. This what makes 3A and below programs so unique---entire towns, and families from grandparents down, are behind their teams.

Well, I see "Mr. Trash All Things Celina" is still trying to compensate for the shortcomings of his life. A sad, angry man who hasn't realized yet that the abnormally small appendages he was born with just will not grow, no matter how much he attacks others.

Typical comment from celina. With everything you said you never said i was wrong, which you know i'm not. I know both the Davis's and Stastny's. Let's hear your rebuttal with facts now.

So all knowing one you, are accusing Celina of UIL violations relative to recruitment of players based upon some personal knowledge you have through associations you have with families residing in Celina that are involved with the athletic program? Since you apparently need some clarification YOU ARE WRONG. Does that clear it up in your thick jealous skull? Probably not but it was worth a try. You clearly need some professional help.

I still don't understand this jealous part. I did work over there and keep in touch with the one's that i worked with. There is nothing about celina that i miss, except maybe the hot dogs at Bobcat Kuntry and my old co-workers. the egotistical one's, like yourself, are the ones that make me thank God that i'm gone from over there. You can claim i'm wrong and i can claim i'm right. But I do believe Stastny's family more than i would ever believe you.

Generally, I just don't want to waste any more of my life dignifying your idiotic comments, but I will waste a few more minutes this one last time.

Wasn't here when Jordan transferred, so can't speak to that one. Regarding the Stastny's......the man lost his job at Aubrey. What would you suggest he do? Not find a new one so as not to be accused by idiots like you of being recruited? What I do know is this.......he had several options (as you might guess given he had 2 daughters that are pretty good players, and he is a very good coach). Out of these options he CHOSE Celina. Which sort of reinforces my original post. Here's a secret for YOU.....maybe it's not so much that Celina recruits, but that parents with kids that excel at athletics CHOOSE to come here because of the kind of support I started this thread talking about.

I am about to leave for Austin. My daughter happens to be on the team and we are thrilled with the experience that lies ahead of us, and her. The intent of this thread was to share what I felt started out as a pretty good day. You however, doing what you do so well, have tried to bring that experience down to your own unhappy/angry, station in life. Not going to let you do that. Don't expect any more replies from me to your nonsense.

My parents taught me if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything. Obviously, you were not raised as well.

Anyway...Wylie girls had a "send off" this morning, as did our neighbors down the road, the Jim Ned Lady Indians. Lots of great memories will be made over the coming weekend. There will always be haters, but don't let it tarnish your experience.

Good luck to all the teams in Austin and Go Lady Bulldogs!! Repeat!!

WOW, somebody's kid or somebody's friend must not have been good enough to play, or better yet, he was not a good enough "employee" to keep his job in Celina.

These kids work hard to succeed, give them positive support and don't attack the kids for a hatred for the town.

Good luck to the Celina girls. Headed to our pep rally at the PAC at 5:30, then a sendoff at 6:30. Town is painted from one end to the other. Our girls first trip to the big dance though they have knocked on the door quite a bit in the past.

An interesting side note: our all-or-nothing power forward, Katie Sampson, all 5'5" of her, is the daughter of the winning quarterback of the '87 State Championship Lorena Leopards, Kellis Sampson! About as home grown as they get.

I just love how Celina people think that if someone doesn't care for their town, it's jealousy, or someones child isn't athletic enough. Proves the egotistical part is correct. Celina has nothing at all to offer me a better life, if it did I would still be employed over there. As noted from other posters other towns support their kids just as Celina does theirs.

It didn't have anything to do with him being a great football coach, who had coached there previously and left to test the head coaching waters?

Congrats to you on your daughter's success this season....and say hi to the folks of envy as you drive thru green town to the State Tournament....they are just mad that Celina HS has won a State title in a sport since they have.....that ONE trophy is all lonely in that big, new over built trophy case due to lack of results from the green birds......

Pick six just proved that he is just a hater---he quotes me saying he must have had a job or a kids not being athletic enough and says that I am a typical Celina fan. I have never even been through Celina or watched them play. I just made the comment as an outsider that has heard alot of sour people make sour comments about a place that they felt cheated them.

Aw, put a cork in it, Pick 6. Our Region 2 is very proud to have the Celina girls representing us in Austin. The Argyle girls have made that trip before, and prevailed with a State Title. It's a special deal for the town, the players involved, and the parents and fans supporting them. If you don't have some positive to write, then just go find a mirror and take a long hard look. That'll usually do it for you. Good Luck to the Celina Lady Bobcats in Austin. We are pulling for you over here in Argyle.

I think it is funny that in life we tend to find what we'er looking for. For example, minners move tons and tons of dirt to find just one ounce of gold. They're not looking for the dirt. They are looking for the gold. Dirt is easy to find. I hope Pick6 can start looking for the gold. It is worth it. And, I hope the Ladycats can find some gold. I know they are looking. Good luck to all.

Really Pick6, why do you have a axe to grind? You dog Celina every chance you get. If you truly feel the way you do about Celina then why not post your real name and be a stand up guy so everyone will know the real you and just not PICK6. If you choose not to post your real name then I will consider you Chicken poop with no backbone. This not about ego's this is about people standing up for a town and school that they care about. I figure you will be a coward and not post your name and I will chalk it up to a ex employee that has a axe to grind.

Really? you think your little comments affect me...no chance at all...it's still funny that everyone thinks i dislike celina because of the job i used to have. i loved that job, just found something better somewhere else. It's crazy that some people are to ignorant to understand that. Just last week i was visiting with the GM over there and she told me anytime i need a job just call her.

Great point Old Navy. Good luck to the Celina Girls and all the teams heading to Austin. Our girls went last year and it was an amazing experience for all of them. I for one think it's great how the small towns "roll up the sidewalks" and literally shutdown to send their kids off to a big game like this. Larger communities simply don't show that kind of support and it is a memory these kids will cherish later in life.
