For those who have played Hirschi, what do they have we should be concerned about?

Alvarado vs. Hirschi

For those who have played Hirschi, what do they have we should be concerned about?
Good, really good. One of their kids, Marcus Foster, is on the ESPN Top 100 Jr's and is as good as advertised. Pretty good sized for a guard, probably about 6' 2" with insane range, good handle, and explosive hops! You have to really play him 20'+ from the basket but be aware that he may put it on the floor and blow by you. The rest of their team is also very good with size and athleticism but the Foster kid is very special and their difference maker. I don't know what Burk has this year (usually very good) but Hirschi beat them both times this year. Any team that does that is usually pretty darned good.

Yes, be very concerned. We played Abilene Wylie, Hirschi, Paris, Texarkana Pleasant Grove, Argyle, and Lovejoy (all ranked 3A teams) and Melissa and Marlin (both ranked 2A teams) and Hirschi is the best team that we played...and it isn't close.

No doubt they are good, but Burkburnett did beat Hirschi by 18 late in the season and Decatur was within a three in the final 10 seconds of sending that playoff game into overtime. Maybe they are having the same problem Alvarado has had in that they haven't been playing their best basketball lately. Looking forward to seeing Alvarado finally play another team that likes to get up and down the court ... been a couple weeks since they've been able to get out and run like they would like to.

I know that our team was playing much better late in the year and I would have liked to see them again just to see how we would have matched up. You never know how team chemistry and or injuries may be affecting a team so who knows if they are playing their best. I know for sure that Marcus Foster has the ability to be a difference maker.

The second Q really hurt us tonight as we went down by 14. At the half, we were down by 10. By the end of the 3rd, it was a 4 point game and with 2 min to go, we got it down to 2. I am not the one to complain about the officiating, but, there were many questionable calls. But, we did miss our share of free throws while the Hawks probably went 18 of 20 (est) on the night.

Good game Rattlers! Way to fight till the end. What another great game between HJ and Navasota.

Best game we played all year. Our defensive pressure really got to them. Lots of turnovers on Hirschi. Bates and Handy played great at the guard position. Small guys but can flat out play. Made almost all our free throws and that was key. Holbert played their best player tough in the 4th quarter. Adams was perfect from the free throw line and made some key stops. I said on another thread I think Bates is the best pound for pound football player in 3A and he may be the best pound for pound basketball player as well. There is absolutely no way he is 5'8. Can flat out jump and score. Scored over 20 again. Not sure who's big idea it is to play the Region 1 tourney in Lubbock, but I'm happy were in it.

Dallas Morning News reports Wilmer Hutchins over Carrollton Ranchview 49-46. Ranchview had the best shot at upsetting Hutch of the rest still standing, IMO. Now Lindale will take their big man Van de Kop to Commerce and try to upset Hutch. I'll be pulling for Lindale in this one. Argyle and Pleasant Grove should be a very good matchup. No telling who wins that one.
