Assistant Basketball coaches

Watching Texas-Texas Tech basketball game and noticed the Longhorns had at least 3 assistant coaches
Seems like mainly they stay seated and look like they are in a daze. They stand up during a time out and do nothing.

I've seen a few high school games over the past 25 years where there were two assistant coaches and they just sat down and stared at the court.

Even with one assistant, they just stayed seated during a time out.

Guess they were assigned as assistant's since they were two-sport coaches.

You never see more than a head baseball coach and assistant that coaches at first base

Our JV coach and our freshman team coach is on the bench with the varsity coach. They actually work some during the game, instructing players who may be about to enter the game or just came out of the game on things that the HC wants communicated.
