I expected more from Burkburnett from what I've heard. We have played Mineral Wells for years and they are VERY average. Saw the Abilene Wylie game in person and they are a good team but thats it. The guard #55 is the best player and #4 is a hustler. They play good team ball and had a good coach. Our Varsity this year was OK and beat Wylie by more than 10 or 12. I expect the Dallas and Houston teams in 3A to be much better. Not to take anything away from Wylie they played a good game tonight. Next year will be fun in 3A.

I dont hate Mineral Wells at all. I do know the basketball team and they are not good. Unless someone moved in town recently that group of kids is average and has been for last 5 years ive been watching them play. I have a friend with a kid on the team "Ricky"
I guess in 3A they might be good. Thats why im excited to be in 3A.

It is really hard to beat good teams two times, let alone three. So far we have had the right formula but I belive both those games were early in the season and your football players had not joined the bball team yet. These two teams have faced off a few times over the last couple of years so they should know each other pretty well. This will probably be another low scoring defensive game. Argyle got their revenge for playoff loses against Madison so we will see if Lovejoy can avenge their loss last year. If I remember at half time Lovejoy had a slight lead.

Should be a great game. Boring game if you like run and gun offense, but a great defensive game where you see which coach has the best game plan and makes the best adjustments.

I sure wouldn't trade the average Wylie team for your hypothetical good team next year. Almost everyone that logs significant minutes this year will be back next year. You obviously have a tie to one of the JV players. Larger school JV teams win 1a varsity tournaments all the time, they just don't brag about it because they have more athletes to choose from. Stephenville will be good, but I doubt as good as you think. I wouldn't base your success on the Wylie game you played this year.
