The real show starts tonight. Wonder how many HR's they will hit this year? Set a school record last year it was between 55 and 65 I think?

I saw where the college's are using a little hotter bat this year, I was wondering if high school is using the hotter bat as well.

Yes, BBCOR and no one will confuse the BBCOR's with a "hot" bat! You really have to hit one "on the screws" to get it out. There won't be any cheap ones this season.

This should simplify things...

Bat performance is specified by using the BBCOR, which for mathematicians is calculated using the inbound and rebound speeds of the ball:

where vI and vR are the ball inbound and rebound speeds respectively, r is calculated using the equation below, and Cball is the measured correction factor for each baseball.1

Why are they going with a bat that is less hot? Them standaround non-athletes need all the help they can get.

Four D1 possible First Round Pitchers among them too. They will also be in the same District next two seasons.

Carpenter from West has already signed with Oklahoma as a shortstop. They signed him for his bat - 14 HR's last year and 13 as a sophomore. Baseball the next couple of years will be interesting in district. West will lose a lot of talent but some good underclassmen will still keep them competitive. As far as football goes.............:ack!:

Same bats for both, and same as they were last year for college. Definitely not hot - supposed to mimic the performance of wood.

Well, at least West is good in at least one sport. That's more than some 3A schools can boast.

Interesting. I heard that college had upgraded from the BBcore and that high school was using what college did last year. Definitely a difference this year.
