Lucky for Argyle we are either gonna be one and done, or maybe play in the regional final. We get Madison right off the bat. Nothing new here. It's either them or Wilmer Hutchins, take your pick. I think the team that wins this game will make it to the regional final in this side of the bracket, maybe facing Wimer Hutchins. In Region 2, for those of you who don't know, District 12 has enjoyed a stranglehold on our region for years, winning the State Championship or being Runner-Up for many times through the years. Argyle has positioned itself for success and been a very competent contender since moving up to 3A, just like we were in the few years we were in 2A, but hasn't been able to get it done in the regional final, for one reason or another. Maybe this year will be different. Alas, another swan song.

Thanks Bigwood33, my thoughts exactly. It is really hard to beat a good team 3 times. Still I don't see Argyle getting past both Madison and Lovejoy. Also, Lovejoy better not be looking past the Celina vs. Whitesboro winner.

Corpus Christi schools could see another rematch in the region finals, West Oso and Miller. The first matchup in district went l think 8 overtimes. correct me if i'm wrong on the overtimes :) . West Oso handle them better the second time around in district.

It is a formidaly front line until you match up with Madison. All roads to Austin in Region 2 have to go through District 12...

Yes, let's not forget Lovejoy. They have a legitimate chance to unseat District 12 from its stranglehold on our Region 2. Probably a much better chance than Argyle does, considering the brackets and their overall team play this year with the schedule they played. Region 2 this year could be full of some seeming 'upsets' , but what you have this year are a bevy of very capable teams that could beat the other on any given night, even in the playoffs. It will be exciting and worth following, for sure.

Oops. I forgot I had the DMN HS Gametime app. I should have looked there. A friend of mine went to the Lone Star Madison game. He said Lone Star did not play well and Madison looks beatable. I haven't seen Madison this year, he might be an optimistic parent of a senior. The Whitesboro - Lovejoy game should be a good one, neither team needs to be looking past Friday.

Madison's style isn't real flashy and won't dazzle..they pressure the ball so well and rotate fresh guys..not real pretty but real effective

Argyle has them on Friday night and the Eagles won't be nervous since they are a perinial playoff team. I agree 100%, that's why I mentioned he had a Sr. son. Plus my friend is an ex-football player and although he has increased his bball knowledge he still watches games with rose colored glasses (i.e. his kid should play more and is a stud shooter, etc...). I watched Madison in 09 and 10, just haven't seen them this year. I look for Argyle to give them all they can handle. Break their press and you can break Madison. Too much hero ball for half court game and smart teams get them in foul trouble with charges and getting them in the air because they think they can swat everything.

Argyle was down last year in the playoff game against Lovejoy and they never gave up or quit at all, that is why IMAO they pulled it out at the end. After halftime you could just see they wanted it more, plus Lovejoy didn't sub well with the coach sticking to his players whether they were performing or not...

I'm hoping I can make the Whitesboro/Lovejoy game Friday. Mrs. Leopard4Life has been out of town and gets back late Thursday. She already mentioned going to "supper club", which is code for "adult's drinking a lot of wine." The host family will normally ice down some beer if they know I'm coming. I'm hoping for a kitchen pass since I held down the fort with the girls, on crutches with a fractured tibia, for a week but I'm not holding my breath. She doesn't appreciate me skipping "supper club" during football season, or when I sneak out of Wednesday and/or Sunday to play basketball and hydrate at the local sports bar after...

Nah, she just baits me with alcohol. The speach goes like this, "Honey why don't you just come for appetizers and a quick drink and then you can head to the game", and I'm like "sure a quick bite to eat sounds good", then fast forward 3 hours and I say "damn she got me again".

They have that supper club once a month and I skip well over 1/2 of them. If I wanted exact number of how many I skipped I could just ask the boss.... er, I mean the ball and chain, uh I mean my better half.

Too bad they don't serve beer at the games... On second thought maybe the UIL is right about at least that one thing.
