Not surprised at all-Wright was only one year at East Bernard and then moved on-Wharton will always have a problem keeping a coach for a long period of time. I knew my source was right when he told me

Not surprising, rumor when he got hired was he wouldn't last a year.

he has already been to 4a when he went from east bernard to new braunfels Canyon and then was the Head coach at Texas State university for several years, before a few mediocre years and they fired him after the 2010 football season and thats when he went to wharton. now is going off to waller

Hey Wharton ISD - if you keep your applications active for 1 year like most school districts do, you can re-shuffle the pile of resumes you sorted through a few months ago... play it off as a delayed call back and a "we were really interested in you all along". Good luck.

Hard to keep a good coach when you have the lack of commitment towards facilities, etc that Wharton clearly has....

I doubt Wharton will ever get new facilites at the football stadium. The dressing room is very small and in bad shape
A group of citizens are getting together to renovate the weight room which is small and in the very old gym on the campus.
Baseball stadium is in good shaper. Tennis got new courts three years ago. Softball uses the Wharton Softball League Association field and its in not very good shape.

I can't ever see Wharton getting a good coach that will stay more than two years.

I wil start digging to find out who has applied for the Tigers and when they may choose someone
I would maybe they would try to have some one by the second week in March?

I still have a lot or reliable sources and contacts even though I'm not working at the Journal-Spectator

what??? playing with gyms and fields that were built in the 1970s is not " making a committment" ?????

He helped turn Wharton around in two years and I expect the same at Waller.

Heard assistant coach Anthony Ray applied for the job. He played for the Tigers in 1983-86. I know he signed to play at Baylor but had injury at the start track meet. He has never been a head coach. I think he was an assistant at Bay City 2 or 3 years ago. Doubt that he will be selected since he has no head coach or AD experience. But never know whith this super and school board

He seems like a good dude. I think that he has been an OC before at skidmore-tynan.

The story i heard about his knee was that he hurt it at practice. He was jumping hurdles the wrong way.
