It is official now! Catherine Osterman made the 2004 olymphic softball team that will compete in Athens next summer. She is the youngest member of the team and is the only college player to make the team. She was great before but after the Olymphics she will be able to return to Texas for her Junior and Senior years and can you imagine how much better she will be then? Plus Texas will have a great freshmen class that year which includes Meaghan Denny of Crowley - another great pitcher! Teams better take advantage in 2004 because Texas will be very tough again in 2005. Way to go CAT! You gotta love it!

I bet Sammy Sosa could light her up like a Chicken Truck. :p Don't be so sure...Jenny Finch did a segment weekly on "This Week in Baseball" where she pitched to major league hitters...people like Ichiro, Barry Bonds, Gary Sheffield and the likes...only two people made contact before striking out during the whole season...you have to remember that softball mounds are closer to the plate, so an 85 mph softball pitch is approximately equal to a 100 mph fastball or something like that.
