I have a couple of questions given what has happened over the last year or so.

(1) Why is this not viewed in terms of recruiting as giving an unfair advantage to the Aggies in the same way Texas A&M viewed everything Texas was doing or proposing to do in terms of the Longhorn Network as being an unfair advantage?

(2) Why did Texas A&M not forfeit its right to host this Texas event when it joined an out-of-state conference?

This makes it seem EVEN MORE like a recruiting showcase for the SEC. If you SECede, you are no longer in control (or shouldn't be) of major events in Texas. Why can't they host a 7-on-7 tournament for all the states of the SEC? This would make more sense given their SECession.

I wouldn't have asked either of these questions had the Aggies not exhibited such a "butthurt" attitude about everything in the last year or two. I sense some hypocrisy here, though.

A&M honestly has very little to do w/the state 7 on 7...they pretty much give the high school coaches the keys to the facilities and head outta there...as for the unfair recruiting advantage it hasn't honestly helped A&M THAT much on the recruiting trail....Texas still gets the top kids...

A&M didn't forefit the event because the NCAA granted them a one year waiver...the NCAA doesn't have an issue w/7 on 7 and how its done in Texas so the waiver was granted for this year...

Hey, that answers lots of questions. Seems to me the coaches are happy with keeping the event at the A&M facilities at least for this year, so I don't see any particular problems with that. I am a Texas supporter moreso so than an Aggie one, although I do have Aggies in the family. I'm not crazy about the way A&M left the Big 12 either, but that is all spilled milk now. If the coaches and players are happy, I'm happy.

Matt just so you know I am going to greatly miss your 7 on 7 coverage. There has been none better in the state in covering 7 on 7 than you sir. IMHO of course.
