Melissa and Liberty Christian should be good games. I know nothing about the others.

Maybe we should have scheduled Carthage, Stephenville, Kilgore, Alvarado and Chapel Hill to please everyone on the board. Or maybe the coaches know what they are doing grooming a sophomore QB that will get better the next 3 years.

Crandall was 4-6 last year...average program right now...

Dallas Roosevelt is a DISD team...lost to Princeton in Rd 1 last year...they were 6-5

Nevada Community was 0-10 last year and 1-9 the year before

Celina's QB is a sophomore but he played 13 games last year.....not your average sophomore....I do think Celina should have tried to upgrade the schedule a little more...Coach Ford mentioned he wanted to upgrade the non-district schedule but obviously he had a change of heart because it looks pretty similar to what he had a year ago...

People do not take into consideration that scheduling a team that is a great distance almost away includes scheduling 2 7th grade, 2 8th grade, 2 JV and a Varsity game. Celina has only one staff that coaches all of those games and coming home from a JV road trip the night before a big game is less than ideal. Just something to consider.

It is interesting to see the difference in the perspective of a metroplex area school and one in a more rural area. Whereas the 130 miles from Celina to Stephenville is considered a great distance - 3 out Wylie's 5 non-district games and 2 out of its 5 district games are over 150 miles. It is definitely less than ideal for the coaching staff, but they find ways to deal with it

All they drive by out there is tumbleweeds, horny toads and an occasional slung out the window CCMom wine bottle.:stirpot:

Exactly. Sweetwater has scheduled non-district opponents as far away as Pecos and Vernon the last 10 years or so. When it came to subvarsity and junior high squads both programs just found closer opponents in the area. Sounds pretty simple to me.

When it came to subvarsity and junior high squads both programs just found closer opponents in the area. Sounds pretty simple to me.You have to do that because of the lack of schools in your area. Celina does not.

3A football can play with the higher classes in Okie-land....Celina can easily play well with 4A and 5A football up there....don't go down in class or it will be like playin Nevada and no one wants to have to sit thru that....

Week 4 will be next to impossible to fill with Okie schools. They play 8-team districts and start district play that week.

I guess they better open it up and play whoever they can get including a team from any other state.
