Argyle usually goes fairly deep in the basketball playoffs. We would be honored to play in an arena like this. And it's in our neck of the woods, too.

I want a Nuclear Power Plant and I want one now! That has nothing to do with this arena! It was a bond package that was passed by an overwelming majority.

Hey GrTigers6...where and when are Glen Rose and Bridgeport girls playing their round 1 game? Wylie gets the winner so I was curious.

I am jealous of Glen Rose's facilities. Kudos goes to the whole community for supporting their school like this.

That has nothing to do with this arena! It was a bond package that was passed by an overwelming majority.

It has everything to do with it! They are the majority of your tax base, so they pay for most of it, even though they only have 1 vote. Your community is just very astute in realizing they can pass any bonds they want to pass and the power plant pays for the majority of it.

Example: Any community would be able to pass a large bond, say $20 million, if they knew (were told) that the community members would only have to pay for 1/2 of it because a large business that cannot move out will pay for the rest.

However, when nobody else wanted the power plant in their back yard, Glen Rose was smart and allowed it to happen, so they deserve the benefits of that decision.

And it is a spectacular facility (the arena)! Be proud!

Number 1 being they have to have and maintain enough buses to moved the entire district at once in case of a nuclear attack and or leak. Thats 8-10 extra buses, that they would not have otherwise. Yes the power plant does help some but not near what they used to before Robin hood took over.

One power plant is not enough...

We roll with two of them bad boys. One on each side of town.

Well after seeing this monstrosity in person tonight, now I know why my electric bill is so high. The sixth grade girl who sang the national anthem was awesome. Refs were as bad as I have seen this year. Lady ref called at least 30 travels on us. Our center could not take a step or get close to there's without a foul being called. Very lopsided fouls. Fortunately we still won. I think that's 14 in a row. This team would probably be 24 - 2 or even undefeated had they played will a full varsity squad all year. The only loss I saw was against wilmer Hutchins which was the first game with the football players available and that was by 5. I think Hutchins is ranked 7th. Will need some other players to play better besides bates if we want to make a run.
