Interesting to see Gonzales, Cuero and Yoakum joining Giddings, LaGrange and Smithville to form basically a new district 26. Gonzales and LaGrange have had a pretty good rivalry. Looking forward to seeing how this one plays out. Travel won't be bad for Gonzales, but with Cuero being the south-most team in the district, it will have some longer (but not bad) road trips.

Looks about like I was afraid it was going to look, I'd preferred LA Vernia stayed with the teams from the east for competition reasons. I'm sure we will continue to have a very tough non district schedule but there's a lot of time between the beginning of sept and nov.

Our district is WEAK!

Your District may be weak but your Region just got stronger.

I agree with Districts 25 and 26 looking the strongest, and a few other teams from the other districts being a factor.

In 2008-09, we ended up playing each other for several R4 Championships. (Football-Giddings vs Bellville, Volleyball- Bellville vs Columbus, Baseball- Giddings vs Bellville).

I'm really looking forward to our new competition in D26. Have always wanted to play Cuero in preseason, now we get 'em for real. This really mixes things up for preseason. Wonder who's playing who for preseason???

I'm saying we traded 2 real strong and 1 pretty good program for 1 pretty good program imo, btw they weren't this last year in the playoffs although I know Coach Sonny is to never be counted out.

In order for Devine to play in the next level, we need to schedule some tough non district games. IMO, we have a weak district and need to play some teams that have been to the play-offs year in year out. There is a few good Reg4 teams that we could play. Let's see if our AD/HC will make that happen.

Just wondering how far will El Campo go in this region-They don't have any superstars like Devon Parks when he played there two years ago.
They will have dept and do have a good coach in Bob Gillis.

Ditto for Hondo. Our district got weaker with the loss of Somerset. Hopefully the HC/AD will schedule some tough non-district games. Of course the Owls will play Medina Valley and Uvalde. I would love to see the Owls schedule LV again.
