If I'm not mistaken Bwood might be the biggest school in that district so that would mean a bi-district match-up with sville.

The most competitive district game Sville will have will be against Alvarado. I watched yall twice last year and look forward to that game, should be a good one. What I am also excited about is to see who we might build a rivlary with in 3A other than Bwood.

I do wish Shipley would of not been skeered to play us again in non-district.

It very well could be. That would be a good rivalry. I have the utmost respect for Coach Dunn. He was a Jr High coach of mine here at Sville in the late 80's and when I moved up to SHS so did Coach Dunn. I got the privilege of being coached by him for 6 years. He is a great man and coach. Yep we do have lights on the baseball field and they have done some upgrades there, the city park as a nice womens fastpitch field as the annually hold the ASA district 12 tournys there, even though we do play at TSU we pay them $88,000 a year to use that facility.

We weren't going to play Aledo if we remained 4A, so I understand not wanting to play a team twice but with two teams larger than yall that have a good shot of being one of the playoff reps out of yalls district I think us meeting in the playoffs is minimal.

Hollywood,

Before today, I would have agreed with you about Sville/Aledo rivalry...but as it stands now, that rivalry will soon be gone too. Unless Sville moves back up (doubt it) or Aledo drops (double doubt it) they will cease to care about one another. Its hard to have a rivalry...if they dont even play eachother.

Think about it, Bwood and Sville were in the same district (with few exceptions) for decade upon decade, but the moment that R1 numbers started to change and realighment split us up (90's-2000's), the rivalry changed. even before we dropped, we had years that we weren't scheduled...and we were both in 4a.

As much as Sville may want it, they will not be Aledo's rival as long as they are in 3a.

....but since it looks like we (Sville/Bwood) will both be down here in 3a for a while....we may as well dance:). Yall (Sville) wont be the largest enrollment in R1 forever...and there's a good chance we could be in the same district again soon...so, you know us.....the Lions definitely don't mind being your Huckleberry! Im sure Hollywood would agree.

Sorry Sville fans, but according to the realignment broadcast and Matt Stepp, Celina said no to playing you. That means you have an 'empty' schedule so far, except for Aledo. We have not faired to well in those scenerios over the last several years with Aledo and WF Rider. But once the districts were aligned with Bwood likely going D2, I was hoping he would reconsider and play us in non-district.

Welcome to 3A Stephenville Yellowjackets. I would ask that you keep in mind that you are coming into a classification as the "big boys" with numbers doubling the size of my team, Lorena, along with others. I hope you keep this in mind and that a bit of humbleness can go a long way, as we have tried to remind our new brethren from Brownwood. We look forward to the next seasons of friendly banter and maybe new rivalries. Actually, my home town of Comanche, many moons ago, played S'ville and Grandbury in non-district and game S'ville a good run for their money along with beating Grandbury most of the time.

Again, welcome aboard!

I have a good handle of what goes on at the high school level, but Sville Jr. High has an athletic coordinator that handles their scheduling. I have no knowledge of what BEAST is talking about but I take his word for it. I believe Shipley should of called Gillespie and talked to him about that if he didn't. I bet Coach G would of looked into the circumstances, cause I know how he feels about teams backing out.

Celina flat out turned Sville down, I can't speak on the other schools you mentioned but believe me we started trying everyone within a 200 mile radius and know are open state wide to fill the schedule out as evidence of our week 4 home and home game with Amarillo High. I can guarantee you that Celina is not afraid of Stephenville! The fact of the matter is the coaches at Celina are probably concerned about all of their teams, JV's and JH's (not that Stephenville isn't) having games that week and not having to travel to Stephenville or vice versa on a Thursday night. Celina already has 2 weeks during district to try and find games since Lonestar and Ranchview are in multiple school districts and their jh's play in the city league. The only thing they are scared of is not having games for all of their teams that week.

I guess the welcome mat isn't exactly being rolled out to Sville afterall, huh. Didn't figure it would be anyway, to tell you the truth. Nothing wrong with Sville, but that's just the way it is in competing for titles. And Sville represents serious competition to the contenders. Argyle is one of them. Maybe not this year, but certainly the following year when Sadler will be a Sr.

More than most, but not all. As Brownwood will tell you happened to them in 2010, and that was a very special team. There are some very capable football teams in 3A playing with less than many quality 4A programs. These teams are usually well-coached, have a better than avg. number of athletes they have developed over the years, and the team plays together well. Stephenville will run into some competition in 3a, I can promise you that.

they have competition in their new district..Alvarado..and we are a lot more solid of a program across the board than we were last time we were in the same district 5 years ago..we are 27-3 with the kids that have been in coach Dixon's program since 7th grade..so we are just at the beginning of this program's full apex. my wife is happy that Aledo and Stephenville will keep their yearly battle going..she loves her Bearcats..

Time to chime in a little on the topic of the Jackets. After being in 4A and in their district (along with Aledo & Everman) for several years let me say yes their is competition in 3A. Is it equal to 4A? No. When you play a powerhouse 3A team you may see one or maybe even 2 real studs that good play Division 1. With a 4A powerhouse they may have 4 or 5. Such as those Bearcats or Dogs from E town. We have been playing the ville for years even in their glory days of the 90's and I expect them to dominate region 1.
