Was down in Rockport this week.


Both Rockport and Sinton are the Pirates? So let's hear it... who are the contenders and who are the pretenders as far as Pirate nation goes?

well, if you travel down 188, you will find three different pirates. There is no doubt, NONE, in my mind that the ones in the middle are the REAL Pirates!

I saw LaVega play last year and with what they've got coming back....

Wasn't at all impressed with thier football team. Basketball team is a different animal.

I watched em play against and damn near beat chapel hill. They looked like a VERY good team and will only get better.

I didn't see their other games but they beat a pretty good prosper team and went undefeated in the regular season.

I know they played TCH close.
They totally had the better athletes on the field against an outmanned 4-5 China Spring Team but looked very average in a 28-24 where CS gave up the winning TD with 50 seconds left in the game and then threw three times from the LV 15 yardline into the endzone trying for the win. And we are talking LaVega-China Spring. If LV could have put 50+ on CS, they would have.

LV pirates are the only pirates that will be making any noiseSinton is 1-0 against Waco La Vega, Sinton beat them in the state title game in baseball. Sinton taken care of Rockport Fulton in baseball and football and the same thing against Mathis.......Sinton 3 state titles in baseball and 1 in basketball. state championship appearance in football. Real Pirates are from SINTON :)

Back in the late 80's-maybe early 90's, they had a kid who went on to pitch in MLB. He was throwing 98 heat when pitching for LaVega.
