Just wondering who is the team to beat in this district

I know Wharton isn't very good from what I read in Wharton Journal-Spectator and they lost big to one of the Victoria teams rcently

I know Sweeny is 14-6. They came in 6th I believe in the B'wood Tourney.

The last I heard WC was 11-4 I think?

Columbia is 15-4. They recently finished in 3rd place at the Palacios Holiday Classic. I know they lost to #1 ranked Yoakum in that tourney.

Lady Necks (1-0, 17-4) opened up their district schedule last night with 62-41 win over Needville.

Also, Sweeny beat Wharton 51-22 in their district opener.

I can't remember when Palacios had a good boys and girls basketball team
It's been a while for Wharton too

wharton girls played for the right to go to region just 3 years ago, i believe...

wharton boys hit a low when coach lopez was run off....but wharton has a good man in there now....

guess it will take some time....and some dedicated kids who want to work at it.

columbia, sweeny and needville make this a surprisingly competitive district boys wise.
