Midway and Midlothian are 5A (or Midway will be 5A) doubt they have any interest in playing a 3A

Alvarado-LaVega would be a good un', too--but there is a chance that they see each other in D1 playoffs...

Week 0 - LaVega
Week 1 -
Week 2 - Stephenville
Week 3

No matter who Week 1 ends up being, can we get Rio Vista on the phone for Week 3?

Better get Rio Vista for Wk1--I think you guys are going to need a breather after LaVega and before Stevenville. Hats off to Alvarado for scheduling such teams.

it's the price of being really good...no one is exactly lining up to play you

I've always believed in playing tough non-district games, they have no bearing on the playoffs and they make you a better team. Who cares if you take a couple of early non-district losses if you improve your team for district and the playoffs.

Who cares if you take a couple of early non-district losses if you improve your team for district and the playoffs. It can also beat you down with injuries that carry over into district play...like what happened to Abilene Wylie last year after facing S'ville, Waco and a hard hitting Lovejoy. Coach Sandifer always tries to schedule the toughest non-district possible to prepare the team for later challenges, but some years it's not such a good thing.

I agree, if your team is going to have a "down" year. No use in getting the players bodies and morales beat up by a loaded team. If your team is going to be decent, or good--that is a different story--I think tough opposition does prepare you well for a playoff run.

Bet Glen Rose is nervous about the realignment.

They thought last seasons district was tough... if they get put in with Sville, Bwood, AW, MWells, Graham... they better hope they stay with Alvarado, Kennedale, West, etc.

How about a Celina/Alvarado and a Brownwood/Alvarado...? Yes I like that but would also like a Celina/Brownwood game.
