ALVORD SETS UP CLASH OF NO. 1 TEAMS — The Alvord Lady Bulldogs ripped former district foe Peaster 65-37 in the opening round of the Whataburger Tournament Wednesday. Ariel Rogers had 13 points, Carley King 12, and Marissa Schedcik 11. Alvord, ranked No. 1 in 2A, will face the top-ranked team in 3A, Abilene Wylie, in the second round of the tournament at 2 p.m. today at Saginaw High School. In other girls action, Boyd beat Rivercrest 52-35 at the Ector Tournament. Bridgeport took down Era 45-43 in non-district action behind 10 points from Audra Hart and Hannah Logan

This should be a great match up today!!! Wylie defeated Lovejoy last night 62-40. I expect today's game to be much different.

Also, the Brownwood girls continue to beat top ranked teams. They defeated #4 Lubbock Cooper last night 40-31. District play is right around the corner and should be very exciting!!
