Had a feeling they would move Argyle back to Region I this realignment. It DOES line up with where we are geographically, the dividing line between Regions I & II. Sanger, Krum, Gainesville, Celina, Aubrey are all just as close. But the number of schools that way increased with addition of Krum. Now we will go way out west for our regionals. And Carthage is now in Region III. That will be interesting. Celina and Gilmer(maybe Tatum, Paris also) should be happy with that. Just depends on how D1 and D2 break out for each district.

Of course, in Region II you are trading Carthage for Kilgore in football, at least.

Padilla has Chapel Hill in 14 3A in Region 2 as well. Region 2 will still be strong, but I hate to see Argyle go west, but with the addition of Stephenville and Argyle, Region 1 would be stronger. It will be interesting to see what the UIL does. They always surprise in some way.

Matthew328 had District 8 in Region 1 projected this way.

District 8-3A
Gainesville
Sanger 722
Argyle 668
Aubrey 515
Krum 455
Celina 587
That would be a pretty good district. Looks like the UIL has a lot of options. Here is the link to Matthew328's projection. http://bbs.3adownlow.com/vb/showthread.php?115650-My-3A-Mock-Alignment

It don't make us no never mind who we are aligned with. We will play anybody. After all, you play whoever is in front of you. I would prefer to have the toughest competition in our own region, no matter who it is. At least that way we know more about those teams, and how we stack up against them. I definitely don't have a problem being in the same region as Carthage, Argyle, Alvarado, or whoever. As a matter of fact, I PREFER it. It's always going to be a situation where the best team wins, and the advantage goes to familiarity in that case. I'd love to play Argyle and Carthage again this year.

Since 2004 Ingleside has not finished lower than 2nd in district....now it's time to worry, I think the Mustangs will be fighting for their playoff lives for the 3rd spot against Rockport after losing a big senior class.....the Mustangs should still do well but with Cuero and Sinton in the district battling out first place I think the Mustangs could tie up the 3rd spot and make their 9th consecutive playoff appearance.:1popcorn:

No bay city and Brazosport?????

Wouldn't mind Brazosport but to hell with bay city. That game with them this year still burns my arse. That was the worst game of non-sportmanship i've ever been to. The way those players acted was a direct reflection of their coaching staff IMO. Oh and, they are notorious for having the best home brew in the area when it comes to officiating. At least two of the officials were pretty good friends with some of the staff cause i seen them talking early before the game and shaking hands like they were home boys from way back (that white hat especially). Wouldn't bother me one bit if we didn't even play them in predistrict. That damn town needs help and leadership in a bad way. My apology's in advance to the good people from bay city but that's how i see it.

Good thinking SFiA; If Edna were still in 3A they would be a better fit in 29-3A than Yoakum. As long as Cuero doesn't move to 29-3A; that would be a killer when Cuero regroups.

If Yoakum does get added to this district, someone have the enrollment numbers of these schools?

29-3A. Columbia, El Campo, Needville, Sweeny & Wharton

I'd assume we would be the smallest. Though we are going to have a talented team in 2012, not--sure we can hang week after week with schools several hundred larger than we are. We'd dern sure give our best shot though and should contend for a playoff spot. Just think the UIL could find 5 or 6 other teams in this area with enrollments within 100-250 of each other to form a fair district.

TAPPS Realignment 2012-2014 Official was just released. I didn't know when they announced theirs?

I wonder what surprises the UIL will come up with this year. It seems every year they do a few things that just leave you scratching your head. We will know in eight days. I like Carl's logical thought, but the UIL doesn't always end up with what many of us think is logical.

So who do you think will get the shaft in some way by this realignment?

I may be wrong, but I think they will put Carthage, Henderson, Kilgore, Gilmer, and Tatum in the same district. The UIL maybe tired of East Texas winning state championships. What better way to do that than have them beat each other up before the playoffs. If they do it will back fire on them. It will only make the ones that survive that much stronger. Just my 2 cents worth.

What the heck do you think has been happening? Shoot, the boys from Cartrage will break your ankle! Who would be #6....please don't say Spring Hill...they already hate us. One thing I will allow...I do not remeber a cheap shot in our district play...I am old & my memmory may have faded.

I've got an idea! Why not just add Chapel Hill as the 6th member of 16-3A?
