We will see who wins. Will Drew Brees set the NFL record for yardage in a season? He needs 305 yards.

New Orleans leads 7 to 3. If my math is correct Brees needs 258 yards to set the record. Of course it is inevitable because they have one game left with Carolina left to be played in New Orleans on Sunday but I know the fans would like him to get it tonight on Monday Night football.

Brees needs 140 yards with just over 5 minutes left in the first half. If he gets it he will break Dan Morino's record but one could argue Dan did it in 16 games but if Drew does it today he will have done it in 16 games but he would have the advantage of padding it one more game.

Right you are Saggy. Big typo on me. Thanks for the correction. At halftime Saints lead 21 to 10 and Drew is only 75 yards shy of the record and he will probably make it unless he gets injured.

Drew gets a td pass and Saints up 28 to 10. Drew is only 31 yards away.

Going into the fourth quarter and Saints ahead 31 to 13 but Atlanta is many a threat. Sure is taking Brews a long time to get these last 28 yards or so.

31 to 16 with 12:43 left in the game. Drew is 30 yards away.

Saints just made a big stop in the red zone with 8:18 left. Can Drew set the record. We will see. Atlanta has had too many penalities but some were refs bad calls. The close ones have all been against Atlanta.

Looks like Saints will have to punt and Drew is short. New Orleans will win but with the way it is going I think Drew may have to wait till the last game to set the record.

Drew throws a td pass with just under 3 minutes left and now has the record at 5087 yards! Saints lead 45 to 16! Well done Drew!

What can you say about Drew Brees, huh? I remember him at Purdue just tearing up the supposed "powers" of the Big 10. And they still were saying he was too small for the NFL. I guess if he hadn't proved himself to his critics yet, he did it tonite. Hooray for our Texas native, Drew Brees.

"No man, it's our job to stop them," said linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, who missed New Orleans running back Darren Sproles on the record-setting play. "I can't say I'm upset by them running up the score or anything like that when I had a chance to make a play."

I like this quote from Sean Weatherspoon. It's pro ball. Grown men getting paid millions to play. No such thing as running up the score here. Falcons need to worry about their potential rematch in the playoffs. Take care of it then.
