Maybe not as weak as everyone thought?

Wimberley obviously winning and West Columbia being 8 seconds from knocking off chill in the semi's. Last year both teams got beat pretty good in the semi's. This year, not so much.

Congrats Texans!

I agree. WC only lost by one point to the state champions. Wimberly and Refugion brought it home also.

I agree. WC only lost by one point to the state champions. Wimberly and Refugion brought it home also. Final score in the WC-Chapel Hill game was 21-16. WC led 16-14 until chill scored the winning TD with 8 seconds left.

so......2 teams from the south have decent years and that means the region is stronger than expected?

they need to add a consolation game to the bracket so when the usual result of regions 1,4 losing in the semi's happens they can battle for NOT worst region in the bracket....

I was referring to 3A, and yes they had a strong showing. Hell, wimberley beat the reg 3 and reg 2 champs... So what I'm asking is valid I think. Maybe reg 4 wasn't so bad afterall.

And I'm not really sure why you're the one talking, considering your team got smoked by Henderson.... Who got smoked by Alvarado, who lost to chill. Wouldn't even wanna think what would've happened had celina got one Of those 2 weak region 4 teams.

Region four was pretty strong this year, in 3A especially.
There was a greater depth of really good teams coming out of this region.

By my count, region 4 was 4-2 in the finals across all classifications, including a sweep of the Friday tripleheader.

Glad WT fail the last re-alignment to us in R4. Made us better down here :) They could go to another region in this upcoming region though.

I would put last years Reg1 Div2 rep against Celina any day of the week.

Region IV is better because the region has grown north over time...look at the Region 4 state champs and their locale..the only true South Texas team is Refugio...Wimberley and Lake Travis are more Austin area....Mason is out in the hill country between Fredericksburg and Brady...

I still don't believe Reg 4 as a whole had the depth other regions have in 3A

with stephenville, la marque, and the ricebirds possibly dropping to 3a..could change alot of the power structure of the regions...it will make for a lot more diversity between the rsgions thats for sure!

Also consider that a lot of people especially from Refugio think that they could beat many good teams from Classes 4 and 5.
