FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU nose tackle David Johnson has been named a second-team Freshman All-American by Yahoo! Sports.

A native of Argyle, Texas, Johnson has started the last eight games. He has totaled 26 stops while placing sixth on the Horned Frogs with five tackles for loss, including two sacks.

Johnson equaled a season-high with four tackles, including a half sack, in the win at Boise State. He has taken part in a tackle for loss in five of the last six games.

During his 11-season tenure as TCU's head coach, Gary Patterson has now produced 14 Freshman All-Americans.

Johnson's father, David, was a strength and conditioning coach at TCU during the 1990s.
