7-8 on boths sides of the ball... A ton of sophomores and juniors were on this year's team... This year was supposed to have been a "down" year for us.

Alvarado will have 11 All district players returning. I think we have 4 of 5 starters on the oline returning. Both tight ends are back. QB and FB are back. Not sure if Hardy (FB) will move to tailback or if Mcneil from the secondary moves to tailback.

Defense returns 2 dbs, 1 line backer, 1 dline

These all based on ALL district. We may have more on defense, but not sure.

So looks like we could be pretty good on offense, but defense will be young.

Alvarado should easily come in top3 in district. Kennedale is returning a ton so they will be difficult to beat and will want revenge for the trashing we put on them.

Stephenville dropping down may make it difficult to get out of the region.

Navasota, LeMarque and Stephenville if they drop , Carthage, Celina if they return some players. Don;t know about Wylie or Brownwood, but Wylie always looks intimidating with the number of players and their size.

Let's not forget about W. Columbia, El Campo, and La Vega.

Wow, winning a title will get alot tougher... Especially when you throw in the likes of Stephenville, Kilgore, La Marque, and El Campo... BTW, all those mentioned teams made the playoffs.

I'm gonna withold judgment until after realignment...LaMarque loses a lot but they are still plenty talented...Stephenville if they drop will be tough but their RB does graduate so that'll be a big hole to fill

¿Podemos empezar un programa de intercambio? Usted puede enviar algunos de sus Oriente velocidad de Texas y le enviaremos algunas de nuestras West velocidad de Texas. ¿Suena como un buen negocio, ¿No crees? Riendo a carcajadas! :D

La Grange returns 9 starters on offense and 8 on defense. The O line will return 5 starters. We also return our qb who was all district 2nd team this year and all but one receiver. We will have a sound rb returning who played a lot in the latter half of the season and impressed. The Leps should have a very good season next year. This will be coach Kates third season so the players should be very familiar with the new system.

Ningún acuerdo, hermano. Tendremos que pasar en los oficios. Todavía tenemos que competir con los otros equipos en el este de Texas que tienen velocidad, demasiado. ¿Qué buscan los Bulldogs igual que el año próximo?

Glen Rose will have 6 starters returning on Offense and 5 on Defense.
Offense we are losing 4 lineman(1 all state caliber) 1 TE and a utility player. We return QB, 2 rb's 2 WR, 1 lineman
Defense we lose 1 ( Really Good, #6):D cb All 3 linebackers and a safety. But have juniors that played alot at those positions due to injury or blowouts.
We also lose a good defensive lineman that played alot at the end of the season. We return we return 3 D line/ D end a CB, safety plus a safety that played a lot and got all district honors
As far as the linbackers we should be fine we have some that played this year and some good ones moving up.

How good Brownwood will be next year will depend on how hard the guys work from the point on. We will be very young in a lot of positions. We will have some size in the trenches but not huge. Qb position will be up in the air and also WR. LBs and DBs also have spots to fill.

Brownwood should be good enough to make the playoffs again. Anything further than that will depend on how the young players develop and gel.

Stephenville is losing some key players from this years team. Baylor committ RB, a very good LB, and a few OL. If they drop should be very competitive in 3A. Dominating... we'll have to wait and see. Their Jr WR was awesome this year and should be exceptional next year. He's 6'4" and has great hands and runs great routes.Other than that, they are pretty young and have a great group of Frosh. Don't be surprised to see a couple of Soph on varsity next season. Their Frosh QB is a STUD. Could complete for the job next season even after the Jr QB had a solid season. Heard he's the only kid to ever break Kendal Briles' pacer record in Jr High. That's quick.

February can't get here fast enough!

even if their numbers drop them into 3a, is there a chance they opt to stay 4a? either way i want alvarado to get them on the schedule.

So what it looks like..

Alvarado is still somewhat capable of making a run... Stephenville if they drop will present problems for Alvarado. Some poster said that Kennedale returns alot of folks.. what about those snyder, monahans, Seminole??

With the talent of Carthage Gilmer, La Vega, West Columbia, Navosota, my gosh.. next year could be one of the most competitive years.. Also what about Arygle.. Wimberly? Man it could be a Great Year for 3A football... oh dont forget Kilgore and Henderson :)

WC had 4 players selected on the ap all state list, only 1 of which isn't graduating... But I'm expecting jr rb Floyd Bess to make that list next year.

no, the non-football sports aren't competitive in 4a, they need to drop....

there is a chance stephenville and alvarado could be in the same district....depends which direction the uil sends them...

the logical direction would be toward us....but, we're talking about the UIL..and we all know how that can go..

Let's see, off the top of my head--Wylie returns our top tailback (>1000 yds), 3 starting O-linemen including our 6'4", 310 lb roadgrader, our top linebacker, our best def end, a very good cornerback/KO return man and two D-linemen. Pretty solid core and we had a very good JV team that went 9-1 (only lost to Waco High, beat Stephenville). If the new QB matures into the position, I think we will be pretty good...

Very true. Alvarado would have had some success against them this year, but after watching Alvarado, I don't think they could have stayed with them for 4 quarters.

If Stephenville drops and UIL puts them and Brownwood in the mix with Alvarado, Glen Rose as some think... Alvarado will have a much stronger district to compete with. Alvarado would by fighting for the playoffs.

which is a good thing for all teams involved...if you believe the battle tested theory..which im starting to think has merit.

WC is losing a lot. The one's returning are very good though. Just have to see how prepared they can get the young talent for playoffs. Won't say how close we'll come to being as good as we were this year cause after losing a good bit last year, I didn't figure we'd be as good this year. Turns out, we were actually better this year. Just goes to show ya, sometimes that younger talent steps up and surprises the whole staff and community. I give a lot of credit to the coaching staff for the success of this season with quit a few new starters. Like someone said earlier, If El Campo, Stephenville and La Marque drop down, it's gonna make it very tuff and these teams stand a good chance at a title the first year.

I agree! Both El Campo & La Marque barely lost in the Playoffs to Manvel who is playing for the 4A title and Stephenville who loss to Aledo who is playing against Manvel. I know personally LM & El Campo keep talent every year! We will have to wait and see.
