Hear he will be going to Arkansas State to be head coach. What is going on here? I figured he would be in line for some top tier colleges, not Ark. St.

Maybe he wants to go back to Arkansas. Arkansas State is way above anyone else in the SunBelt.....maybe be a good place to get his feet wet.

Yeah I don't really understand the move. It seems like he could get a better start than Arkansas State but he is from there so that must have gone into the decision. Good hire by the Ark St people for sure.

Rarely does a coordinator get his first HC job without having to take a step or two down in programs. A few successful seasons there and he'll back with the big boys. Think Art Briles.

Or his boss.......Gene had to go to Iowa State first and then to Auburn.

From what I understand he was basically told in some of the major school interviews his lack of time as a college HC was a big negative
