According to reports, 10 year, $250-$260 million contract with full no-trade clause. Will C.J. Wilson join him in LA? http://m.espn.go.com/mlb/story?storyId=7330066

C.J. next

Heard Angels may not have enough in their piggy bank after signing Puhols to get Wilson.

Are both of these done deals? Looks like the Rangers might have a lot more trouble getting back to the WS now. There's not any #1 or #2 free agent pitchers out there. They'll have to promote from within. I was almost positive that C.J. would be gone anyway. He wanted to go back home and pitch in mild weather as opposed to the heat in Texas. Do any of y'all think the heat in Texas gives them trouble getting veteran starting pitchers to come here?

I have thought the same thing as well about the heat. Add in the fact that Tx also has no state income tax which adds up quick when you are talking this type of money. I could understand it if the Rangers sucked, but that is far from the case.

I would not sign a 19 year old to a 10 year no trade contract, much less a 32 (or how ever old) player Albert is. The Angels just bought an expensive DH in a few years that they cant unload.

Still really dont agree that the Rangers will have a hard time making it back. They have great team chemistry. The Yankees have proven that big contracts have nothing to do with getting you to the WS. On paper, they should win 150 games a year.

The whole LA Angels vs the Anaheim Angels is a hoot. The Angels are not in Los Angeles, or even Los Angeles county. Orange county is a hell of a lot nicer, cleaner and safer! This coming from someone in L.A. County!

Wonder what the income tax is on 250,000,000 in California?
