All I have to say about lions88 is he has been wrong so many times this year So this time won't be any different. Now I'm not gonna be like him and say that chill has no chance. If they didnt they wouldnt be in the championship. It will be close but I believe Alvarado will do what they have done against us. Bridgeport, prosper all thru the playoffs. You may be right which is one of the reasons I said they are beatable. They clearly have tons of talent but the game I saw them play in person I came away from the game thinking we (Van) can play with those guys. I may be a bit of a homer in my assessment but for whatever reason I wasn't that impressed with how they played. Was very impressed with their overall talent level though which in my mind makes them the favorite (probably because I haven't seen Alvarado). From what I understand Alvarado likes to run the ball. CHill has a very good Dline and lots of speed everywhere else. Should be a great game and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Alvarado win.

When I started reading the thread, this was also my exact thought.
We will see how things shake out against Chapel Hill but Alvarado has been the best team in the state this year. Their dominant performances against some pretty good teams (Prosper, Kennedale, Seminole, and now Henderson) have been very impressive. They might be good enough to have done this in 4A this year. I know that Chapel Hill has been pretty much everyone's number one this season but they have not been as impressive as Alvarado.
My prediction, Alvarado wins their 1st State Championship.

Other than that, they are fundamentally sound. Haven't witnessed Alvarado's defense in person but from all i've read and heard from others, they are very capable of shutting down the run game as we did. IMO, if Alvarado's defense can pressure from the ends and stay tight on the receivers to limit the big plays, they can severely limit Chill's air assault (which we did for the most part) especially with an occasional unannounced corner or OLB blitz. As far as throwing the ball against them, if your QB and receivers/TE/RB's can play catch, then you can expose that secondary easily (something we didn't do well). Keep it short and depend on yards after the carry and will also limit pickoffs. One things for sure about Chill though, If there's a way to win, they seem to find it time and time again. I just think Alvarado is better and think Chill can pull the rabbit out of the hat only so many times in one season. If my prediction is right, somebody's gonna get scalped friday night.

Was not a jump ball. One of our DE's had him on the run towards the sideline and he rolled away from the tackle and he found a man wide open down field. Didn't see exactly whether the guy was covered in the beginning or not but even if he was, the QB bought some time for him to lose his man. He was all alone and waiting for the ball to get there. He was tackled on about the eight and they ran up there and spiked it on first down. Incompletion on second down and the score came on third down.

after watching the game i would agree...henderson's oline and dline were average...at best..the defense was not the same caliber without the fletchers and leake...and did you see #7 pull away from those lbs and dbs on that shovel pass? where was all that speed? or did they just quit? overall Alvarado just executed and was just simply the better team period.

Boy, you're a piece of work. Alvarado took care of your Henderson Lions (even though many Henderson fans wouldn't claim you) pretty easily.
