Highland Park football coach Randy Allen suffers 2 broken vertebrae, fractured ankle in car wreck Friday night.

weird... article says he was following the bus with his wife and daughters. Coaches don't ride the bus with the players?

It's Highland Park. I'm surprised they make the kids ride a bus. j/k

Hope for a quick recovery for one of our former coachs.

Alot of schools the HC and family..or HC and OC and DC will ride seperate...especially 4A and 5A schools with bigger coaching staffs.

I saw it, but didnt know it was Coach Allen. Im surprised he wasn't hurt worse. I thought someone had died. There was nothing left of the car.

I have dealing with Coach many times..love chatting with him come realignment..thoughts go to him in recovering..hard to have a loss and a crash on same night

Thoughts and Prayers to Coach Allen and family. Randy was my head coach at Ballinger in High School in the early to mid eighties. Fine man and great coach.

I remember he coached at Brownwood a year or two after Wood retired and moved on...prayers to him and his family!!

I'm pretty sure it was more than a year or two....more like 5 years I am thinking. Then he came home to coach his old high school team, Abilene Cooper. Anyway, he's a great man and I pray he recovers quickly.

Prayers for Coach Allen! Great coach, unbeleivable man and a dedicated father. Coached me all 4 years at Brownwood. Teaches more than just football. Here's to a speedy recovery!

He coached seasons '86-'90 in Brownwood.
