True...but i am disappointed and less than impressed. It is THIS GAME that you bring it all, the 3rd game of the play offs, you hit all cylinders. We need to pour it on next half, and redeem ourselves for the play off run. This is sloppy ball that will get you killed deep in the play offs. We should be wiping Sweeny off the scoreboard, but yet, here they are. Very dangerous to allow a team like this to hang around.

Correct Shamu..you cant allow a team like the Texans to have the ball all day...too many weapons. The Sweeny D did what they could, but got worn down. This is opposite what i thought would happen, though I did think we would win going away with it. I thought the Sweeny O would score, and the Sweeny D would be weak. Totally opposite.

I was surprised the Texans were able to dominate in 3rd quarter after shooting ALL of their toes off in first half. Was not sure they would come out so strong in 3rd quarter with having to run on their heels due to loss of toes!!!! Fairly physical front for Sweeny but they were gassed at end of 2nd qtr and Texans were having their way with them until the snap went over Lambert's head for about a 20-yard loss. I have never seen sooooo many procedure, formation, illegal shift penalties out of a Texans team. It clearly helped to keep the Dogs in the game. Thought the refs let Dog's DB's play pretty physical against Blakemore and Burttschell or at least one guy did.

That kid for Sweeny can really punt. Impressive. They also played tough in early going against Blakemore and run game. Good pressure on Texans QB in 1st half. I was thinking Sweeny might be able to throw ball better but they struggled in that area and it hurt cause they could not consistently sustain running game.

The 1st Texans TD was a screen pass that covered some 60 yards. B-Rad Rodriguez got a nice block and then RG Alden Mann threw the beautiful block at about the 10-yard line to spring wilson into the end zone. Don't often see a guard 50 yards downfield throwing blocks. SLOW CLAP for that kid!!!! Oh yeah...pretty good pass and run as well.

Defense played great. The secondary held up well. Jones probably had his best game at safety. Alana at TE and the O-Line are to be commended as they really took over game in 3rd qtr. That Sweeny defensive end # 9 was a handful. Kolby Kelley and Dennis Smith also deserve credit as lead blockers from FB position. Of course, the front 7 or 8 played their usual very good game.

I could not believe the tackling or lack thereof I saw from Rio Hondo on the video highlights from the game with Sweeny that were posted earlier today. Sweeny was big and athletic. Of course Brady Lambert deserves a ton of credit for making some beautiful throws with pressure.

Sweeny coaches are to be commended. Late in game when it was clearly out of reach it got a little chippy as Dogs were probably frustrated. A personal foul and minor tussle followed a few plays later by a blatant shot in the back eons away from the ball with a very brief squaring off prompted Sweeny coaches to immediately remove both players involved for their team and diffuse the situation. Was not really that big of deal but I was impressed with how quick they took control.

I think maybe the problems with the Texans early on was the fact they were playing a day game? Not their usual schedule? Still sleepy from staying up late to see the Horns whip the Aggies? But they came out the second half and took care of business! Gutsy play by Lambert who was obviously hurting. Blakemore and Alana both came off the field hurting but went back in.
That was the best the Texans D has played by far! Awesome game Texans!
Just have to mention the Keystone Cops routine our JV players put on at the end .That was hilarious! At least they can say they got to play!

Not saying he would have made a difference in this game, but it's just what's right. Plus you get him ready for the future so if he gets that far his Senior year he will have the experience. I believe it was all a politic move, that's all. Not taking anything from the Rayburn kid, I'm just saying. We were more dimensional with Darland because he can run and to me also throw just as good as Rayburn.

That defense tightens up when in the red zone. Most of the td passes were not in the red zone where the defense couldn't tighten up. Wimberley was able to move it pretty good for most of the game it was just inside the 20 where the Sweeny defense played great.
