My younger cousin attends Warren. I'm not sure if his family is coming down (to Mathis) for the holiday, but if they do we may head out to the game.

some of those were probably sold to non harlingen fans in the RGV but with McMemorial hosting SA Reagan alot of people are going to that game and waiting to see if Harlingen wins before they travel north. The McMemorial/Reagan game will be packed and rowdy as well.

I like seeing Harlingen doing so well. From what I have heard, their fans are some of the best and most polite around. And their kids don't flip off opposing fans and cuss out opposing cheerleaders after the games like Trinity has done.

Yeah, Cardinals were up 14-0 before their offense ever ran a play

Harlingen vs SA Warren highlights. Check out the Sea of Red on the Harlingen side at the beginning of the video. Harlingen defense had 4 pick 6's in this game and destroyed the Warren QB and passing game that was supposed to be one of the best in SA.

and an onside kick return for a TD.

that's some good stuff thanks......was listening to it on the radio coming back from the sonora/east bernard game.............the announcers were talking about how the Harlingen
helmets looked like they were two colors but really it was one side covered with stickers...............I see what they meant.

Matthew328

Javelina holds 15k....texasbob says Buc holds 18k but I really don't believe it.....looked more like 13k to me......not sure Madison will travel quite as well as Warren will either so there could be more seating for Harlingen fans on the Madison side as well

Don't know which side Harlingen will be on, but the West side(Visitors for HS games, Student/General Admission for Javelinas games) seats perhaps a couple thousand more than the East side. Plus the metal bleachers will allow the Harlingen fans to make even MORE noise :)

Harlingen fans bought 6500 tickets the first day of sales..its expected the remaining 1500 tickets for Harlingen will be sold before lunch today...I am sure whatever Madison doesn't buy will get snatched up by Harlingen folks also

I saw on Facebook that the game is likely to be televised if the game is sold out, as expected. As of Wednesday at 6 p.m. when the ticket office closed, Cretors said approximately 10,000 tickets had been sold in Harlingen.

Not any more. Valley teams learned a few years ago that agreeing to play at the Dome was basically giving the SA team a free home game. Yea it was a cool experience for the kids but they soon realized it wasnt good for the team. This started back about 5 years ago when Weslaco flipped home and home against San Antonio Madison and McAllen Memorial flipped with SA MacArthur. Both games were played in the Valley and Weslaco had Madison down starting the 4th Qu only to lose and McMemorial lost on a last second missed FG. Everyone felt even if the Valley team lost the flip, they would end up in the Dome anyway, so why not try to make the SA team travel.

This is also why SA teams are more willing to play in Corpus no one wanted to risk having to play Harlingen in the valley

hey matt going to hijack this thread for a min.............what do you think about refugio/sonora worth drive in to SA from the hill country? Saw Sonora last week not too bad a team...had a little speed................was also thinking of LT/CP but the major turnoff.........Austin traffic..I could be in Austin with and Hour and 15 ...but from Oak Hill to DKR might take me 30 and than parking is awful.............thats why Sonora game might be an option.

sorry for hijacking the post.
