We need a big enough venue for this one. Devine packs Five Thousand + fans and growing. We completely filled out our side of what was five thousand plus bleachers. Ask Liberty Hill and Sam Houston, we packed the house.

Great it's in Sinton! Two teams i haven't seen this season. Devine has been averaging a ton of points, pretty much the same average like Ingleside had but they do it differently, instead of a great passing game it's a great run game led by the all-time scorer in Texas High School Football(i think he broke it this past game). Wharton brougth their defense in the second round and offensively have been moving the ball at will the first two rounds. Should be a great game.

Can someone from Sinton answer this, what is the home side capacity? we have a strong fan base coming and we might need to use up some of the vistor side to hold our fans yeah, that won't be necessary; nor do I think they would allow yall space over on the visitors side. There will be plenty of room for your fans. Heck, there was some room when Calallen & Beeville played there on Friday. Now, the Refugio game was packed, but that was also the only game in the area that night and we had a lot of surrounding community fans in attendance.

half-time M&G on the West end of the stadium, on Pirate Blvd is where we usually meet because that is where the smokers have to go. They have been using the area right in front of the west end as parking so there is a small area right outside the gates we could meet.

You should see a crowd like no other, we pack a bunch and that might be an understatment. People start to show up 3 to 4 hours before kick off. You'll see. Get there early cause it will be packed. Then you have fans from our District and surrounding areas from Devine and Sinton to watch Sadler play and make history in THERE. Do y'all allow noisemakers such as cow bells, air horn things like that in y'alls stadium? BTW, If you have any connections to the people in charge of the concession stand, please make sure y'all order plently because y'all will run OUT! It happen in Hondo, Sam Houston, not sure in Liberty Hill games cause I took my own. lol

YTB, sounds like a plan. We would have to meet somewhere at half time or something like that.

LOL well you can get there 3 to 4 hours before KO, but you won't be allowed in until 90 minutes or an hour before game time. This could be a standing room only situation if you are the only game in the area AND the draw of Sadler, plus it is a holiday and there will be lots of families in town. I don't envy whoever has to work the concession stand, but it won't be ME!!! HAHA. Looking forward to sitting and watching a good game!

Ken Hall's Texas Records Still Standing:

4,045 Single-Season Rushing Yards (1953)
899 Career Points
395 Single-Season Points (1953)
337.1 Rushing Yards Per Game (1953/12)
127 Career TDs (1950-53)
57 Single-Season TDs (1953/12)

6 points scored by Joe Sadler this coming Saturday will place him in the record books alone, passing the legendary Mr. Hall in the single season points scored. Might be another 50 years we see another record broke. History in the making for sure in Sinton this Saturday. Keep ya'lls programs for history sake.

I believe Sadler has 50 TD's this year. That record could be broke too if they win, and play another game or more. Or, he has a big game this Sat, might get broke then.

Why is this game not being played on Saturday afternoon at the Alamodome in San Antonio? East Bernard is playing there at 12 noon, and I think a lot of Wharton County fans would have shown up and spent the afternoon at the Alamodome watching two Wharton County teams still in the playoffs. I don't know anything about Sinton's stadium, but I think this was a missed opportunity for the Devine boys and the Wharton boys to play in a venue where UTSA plays football, and the Dallas Cowboys hold their training camp.

Cool Joe. I was just looking at his rushing TD's (50). He has 3 TD's receiving. So, he has 53 TD coming into this Saturday's game.

According to these stats:

Correction: Sadler has 50 rushing TD's, and 3 receiving TD's. 53 total. So, if Sadler scores 5, he breaks another Hall record for single season TD's (57), set in 1953.

I wonder why the Journal-Spectator says that this is the furthest the Tigers have been in the playoffs since 1950? I remember that 2003 game well. It was the Jordan Shipley/Stephen McGee show in Victoria. Those two guys dominated Wharton. I believe Kellen Heard (former A&M player who is notorious for a very late hit on Colt McCoy) was playing for Wharton that year, too. I recall the Wharton QB handing the ball off to Heard at the goal line, and his big body bulldozed into the end zone...haha.

Sadler Express keeps on rollin. Tooot Toooot! Chuga Chuga Chuga! This will be over early folks. Sadler will break the record on the first rock tote of the game. I say it is a blow out and Devine rest it's starters early for a matchup with Wimberly. This is Devine's year they are playing the best football at the right time. Wharton lost 5 games in a row this year and defaulted into the play offs because the district is so bad. They lost 6 games of 7 at one point. Wharton has given up many yards rushing this year and Sadler is one of the best football players in the state in all classifications. I would take his 60 % to the bank. That catch he made at the 1 last week was huge. Did not look like the hip was too bad off. Jumped about 12 feet in the air to catch that pass:D

I say it is a blow out and Devine rest it's starters early for a matchup with Wimberly. This is Devine's year they are playing the best football at the right time. Wharton lost 5 games in a row this year and defaulted into the play offs because the district is so bad. They lost 6 games of 7 at one point. Wharton has given up many yards rushing this year and Sadler is one of the best football players in the state in all classifications. to say that Ingleside is one of the worst teams in the state playoffs is absurd....Ingleside was always ahead in the game against Wharton and never trailed until a little over a minute left when Wharton scored and went for two after a Mustang turn over inside Wharton's 10 yard line and missing an opportunity to close out the game with a two score lead.....i give congrats to Wharton for never giving up them guys played hard all night and deserved that win, I think Ingleside's big play offense hurt them more than it helped them, it kept the defense on the field the whole night trying to stop Grissom.....oh and Wharton will have an answer for Sadler, I believe it's #56 Ramon Frazier if I remember correctly he's a OLB\DL this guy is big and fast probly the best I've seen all year.

From a college prospect standpoint, yes. Stat-wise? It's a toss-up:
Johnathan Gray 258 carries, 2,949 yds, 11.43 ypc, 55 TDs
Joseph Sadler 311 carries, 3,286 yds, 10.57 ypc, 50 TDs

No it is no absurd. you blew a lead against Wharton? You should have won that game then. You could not beat Sinton in a down year for sinton. You had your chance to make a splash in this years play offs with a team you have been counting on since they were fresh. Not very good in my opinion. Look at the teams you played this year in which one of those teams made the play offs Beeville. Devine is a complete team. They play hard together and forever all 48 min as tough as they can. It is because of sadler, he is a tough son of a gun and a winner. His will to do whatever it takes to win. I don't care if he is 40% him being there is the difference. It is and always will be about your seniors and how they lead the rest of the team.

Well being undefeated I would think they would have to have something else, but all I have read or heard is running back. (running). Lambert is a qb so it all has to go thru him. Does he throw the HB option pass or something? I have seen no throwing stats on their offense to speak of. I just hope both teams can get thru this week, injury free and play each other. Cool SA. Like to meet ya too at the M&G. Bring some cold weather gear. That north wind is to be nasty.

Rain front came through here at 8AM, but--no wind yet. That is to come this afternoon.

It may be too cold for me but I will try to get there briefly for the M&G if I can.

Great Phil. I'm thinking the 1st half, it will be ok "cold" wise. You could depart after the M&G. Love to meet ya. The legend on here.

They have been having server issues all day so I hope it works ok. Lots of people stayed home from games because of weather and it overwhelmed the servers at TSRN.(their own words)

Wow...I hope so too!!! Today is a good day if your strength is running the ball..in reality..not really a good day for football with all the wind...just ask Trinity. Of course both teams have the same disadvantage. Glad we have our game in the books.
