Good game. Didn't turn out liked I'd hoped, but hey we were a big underdog anyway. The ref's were horrible, both sides got away with stuff (holding, blocking in the back, and pass interference).

Celina flat-out out coached Lovejoy. The 4th and long where the receiver didn't line up in the huddle and caught the 1st down pass (and then some) was old school genius. The shuttle pass for the long TD run was the perfect call, we were over pursuing and you made us pay. Last year Lovejoy out coached Celina and this year the tables were turned.

Good luck against Henderson.

Grades for Lovejoy: Pass offense: Better than expected. Rushing offense: Limited success against Celina D. Defensive line: A+++, as good as we've seen.

Lovejoys dline was flat awsome that is what kept them in the game through the 1st half. The 2nd half you could tell Celina's oline was finally wearing them down. Lovejoy was way better than i thought they would be espacially on the defensive side.

That is the best I've seen our pass offense this year, and the QB is two games back after collar bone surgery. That is also the worse I've seen our rushing, with exception of the Prosper game.

Your D-line is fast, STRONG and athletic. Ya'll have a lot of speed on both sides of the ball. I thought we were going to break a few and ya'll made the play at exactly the right time. This is the healthiest we have been all year, but it wasn't enough.

Good luck next week against Henderson. If I can manage a kitchen pass I'll come watch.

I'm sure the boys would appreciate the comments. Unfortuneatly for us, Celina was as good as I thought they were going to be. Good luck on your quest for State.

Yes, he missed the first few games and wasn't 100% until over 1/2 way through the season. Two kids played tonight that had been out for weeks. #37 had been out since the season opener.

I figured Nate must have been out because he is a game changer on the dline and I cant help, but think yall would have beaten Paris and beat some other teams a lot worse had he been playing. He causes so much disruption to the oline he wore our center out tonight big time and caused us to have to run the ball outside when they tried to run it up the middle.

Your Dline wore us out too. Our center was exhausted, thats why all the snaps in the shotgun were on the turf or at the QB's ankle in the 4th. Your username is a good description for how they played last night. They just kept coming and grinded us down.

Good luck against Henderson

How is #65? That was quite possibly the hardest hit I've ever seen in high school football.

I agree, Zack leveled two or three like that. I have never seen anyone get from the middle of the field to the sidelines that quick and just destroy someone, not since Lavey anyway.

I second that on one of the hardest hits ever. It's a good thing that kid weighed 250lbs because if he would have been smaller he may have been killed.

Josh Jakes brother does that all the time to players it's fun to watch. Against Sanger Josh peeled back and had a hit like this one and it took the kid forever to get up. I wonder if there is a video clip of that hit it was pretty devastating also.

Thanks for posting the video. When I saw the play happen, I was certain the helmet came flying off because the Celina player used his forearm under Hiram's chin to knock the helmet off. As a result I thought for sure the result would be a serious concussion and was quite surprised to seem him go back into the game a short time later. But the video shows (most clearly in the slow motion part) that the hit was a clean (but brutal) hit into his chest and gut.
