i saw the occupation thread and it sparked the thought, how did you first hear of 3adownlow? i heard coaches talk for 2 months then players for 2 months then i found it and was hooked. :)

I heard of 3A Downlow from Footballgal on RGVSports.com. She posted on there that people here were bashing the Rio Grande Valley 3A district, and us passionate Tarpons fans had to defend the honor of District 32.

I did a search on 3A football after Cotulla got back on track, wanted to see if there were any stories or stat pages on the net, never thought I'd find this... the holy grail of 3A football discussions, well mostly. Started following last season, hooked after one minute, finally posting this season.

I started reading this site after a search in '99 or 2000. I'm not sure which year. That was when there wasn't a message board, only a guestbook. I remember early on(around late 2000 I think), there wasn't a whole lotta people here. Discussions centered mainly around DFW and West Texas. Finally signed on at the start of the '01 season. From SoTX, there was only sinton75, Mpiratefan and me from district 30-3A. Mathis was in 31-3A. You could say I followed Gobbla around until I made my home here.

To think that there isn't a site like this for any other classification just makes it even sweeter. This is something special.

I can't remember exactly. I think the first mention of it was from my cousin up in Austin, she got totally hooked on Sinton's playoff run in 2002 & did a search. At the time I was only reading the Caller forum :rolleyes: !! I don't think I posted anything for awhile. Then when Sinton made their bid for a baseball title is when I started to post. I'm hooked now. Currently, I'm reading more than posting. Maybe because there isn't anything exciting happening, yet, with Sinton :( wink :D I have managed to reach over 500 posts though. :D
