That time again. Book early, get nice rates, stay close or miss out. I once again will being staying at the LQ Six Flags. Very clean, free breakfast, free internet and some nice eating places nearby. Few miles from Cowboy Stadium. Several 3ADL'ers stayed here last year and had a great time.

State games are Dec 15,16 and 17.

Might add, calling this LQ directly might get ya a better rate. Don't mention the state games, cause they will jack the rates as soon as they are aware it's that time of year.

My husband and I and my daughter and granddaughter are going.

I booked us a room at the Hawthorne Suites....we are coming in Thursday afternoon but probably won't make a game until the 3A at 4:00 on Friday. I don't know anything about the place I booked, but the reviews looked pretty good and I liked the idea of a full kitchen. With a 4 y/o in tow, I need to have somewhere to keep all of her munchies. I think this place is about 2 miles from the stadium.

Heard that Hawthorne is nice too. And, yes---the full kitchen comes in handy for ya. Just like that sports bar across the street from the LQ, that brews it's own beer comes in handy for me.:)

Even if your not sure if your going, but---thinking about it. Or, you'll only go if your team makes it. Better book now, rates are low. You can cancel the day of arrival if need be. I know the week of state last year, rates doubled.:(

Red & I will be there again this year. Either staying at the LQ or Hawthorne Suites. After being there last year setting up a M&G in one of the lounge areas seemed to be the best option. There are TVs everywhere and you won't miss any part of the game! Be sure to bring your cell phone charger. Plenty of outlets in those lounges to charge your phones! I know mine was dead after a full day at the stadium. As far as after parties...we'll just have to play it by ear!

This is a awesome M&G place as well. Had one there last year. Walking distance to the LQ and not far from all the other hotels. The hotel lobby bar closes to early.

Figured you'd take a 0 on the test if WC makes it SA:) Well, if we make it out of the region, which isnt a given, we'll likely get a semifinal rematch with the bully on the block, Chapel Hill. if we SOMEHOW managed to win that one, and played for a state championship, then I could probably figure out how to get away for an evening and neglect my tests to see us play. :)

Just called, and they have not jacked their rates up yet, and rooms still available. So, better book ASAP, cause I know last year they double the rate before state games. You can cancel if need be 24 hours prior, if your only going if your team makes it to state.

Several 3ADL'ers are staying here.

Does the general admission ticket allow you to sit anywhere on a first come -first serve basis? And are there any tailgating parties allowed on the premesis, or within close proximity of the stadium? Are noisemakers allowed in the stadium? What other "rules" do I need to be aware of?

Yes
Didn't see any last year, but that doesnt mean anything. lol
Yes.
They will casually check any bags you take in.
I know they had a designated area for smokers and that might be the only "in & out" allowed.
Parking is $10 per day
Tickets are $15 per day
If you plan on staying all day -- don't forget your cell phone charger.

You can tailgate in designated areas only. Which is on the outer parts of the lots because you have your spot, then there is grass. They probably wouldn't care for HS games, but for Cowboy games they don't want people taking up 4 spots.

When I click on the links, it takes you ticketmaster to buy the tickets.
The price is $15, however they charge you $5.30 EXTRA per ticket for tax and etc. for a total of $20.30 per ticket.
What is that all about? Cant you just buy general admission tickets at the game for $15, or do you have to get them in advance?

I dunno...looking at the match-ups, the Wimberley-Argyle game seems to be the great "Clash of Titans"...both are very similar in many regards, and very possibly a tit-for-tat kind of game. I have a feeling LT will be a blow out.

Could be the highest scoring state game ever regardless classification (what ever that record is). A six man type score. I agree Red, a fun one to watch.

Refugio will score on any "D" with their offense. Once, the Refugio "D" was their weak link, but--heard they put the best players on that side of the ball after the first playoff game. So, it's better, not great.

I'm not sure about that, but I see what your saying.
However, I have always believed that offense sells tickets, but defense wins championships.
