I'll be at Jerry World tonight. Stephenville will impress you. They will have their stud player back after losing him in week 4 to a foot injury. Edwards #24 is a Baylor commit. I would like to know your thoughts after the game of how you think Alvarado would stack up against them. ;)

I'm not from Wylie just to clarify. But just an unbiased view point to educate the Alvarado and Henderson fans a little better. It was a good post. Alvarado is a very solid team who's results up to this point a very impressive and deserving. Hard work from the coaches to the players has paid off. But the real part is that the schedules are not compatible. AW, Sville, Waco, Snyder, Lovejoy could beat everyone on Alvarado's schedule. Waco lost to a very good Stephenville team 2 weeks ago and a VERY good Mansfield Summit team last week. Again, we could talk about who played who and who's schedule is tougher than the other all day.

Again, looking at 3A only (i don't doubt the strength of the 4A teams Wylie lost to, so give yourself two more wins), here are the power ratings for all 3A teams on our schedules including our two teams:

Looks pretty close to me. BTW, Wylie's power rating places third in our district behind Alvarado and Kennedale
Wylie's schedule has the 1st, 4th, and 7th toughest opponent in top 50 (Snyder, LoveJoy, and Brownwood)
Alvarado's schedule has the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, toughest opponent in the 50 (Prosper, Robinson, Kennedale, and Bridgeport)
Wylie's pre-season 4a schedule gives Wylie the edge in toughest schedule overall. IMO Alvarado would give Stephenville and Waco a competitive game.

Some more interesting comparisons:
Prosper put a beat down on both Argyle (35-14) and Lovejoy (55-21). Lovejoy beat Wylie. Alvarado Beat Prosper 28 - 7
Wylie beat BurkBurnett by 11 (28-17). Decatur beat BurkBurnett by 25 (52 - 27). Kennedale beat Decatur. Alvarado beat Kennedale (55 - 0)

Bottom line is that don't think AW is going to be just another team on the schedule by looking at their record. They have been tested very well and will pull out all the stops to challenge Alvarado to their limits. Should be a great game. The best team will come out on top.

Be careful of what ya say it may be used in the game as motivational tools. Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it. Good Luck Wylie Volleyball team! Its funny how small our opponents crowds have been. Last week I bet Mineral wells didnt have 300 fans. Our stands were full.. I do sympathize with you having to come to Ft.Worth to see the game. Its an Hr drive for us at that time of day and several Hrs for yall.. Bummer.

hollywood, Lions88 is the authority on 3a football. You can tell by his posts he has great wisdom. He has followed Alvarado very closely for several years and even though he is from far east Texas, he sees west texas football constantly and has very credible scouts when he can't make it. He may be kin to the Seminole coach as well.

You just get on the internet and do some research, if you dont believe me then listen to the Sideline to Sideline folks. They didnt seem to be worried about alvarado losing this round at all. And i wont have to explain if alvarado loses tonight because they wont. Here are some facts ,with jacob burtch at qb we are undefeated snyder played us without burtch and yes beat us but the game was close until 4th qt ( 14 to 13 )snyder is good but if burtch was there we would have gone close until the 4 th qt and might have won that game ,my point snyder lost to monahans by a fieldgoal but seminole beat monahans 41 to 7 with burtch at qb like i said i wish we would have gone div 2 just to have a chance to prove to you who the better team was.

Grant and Terry go to a lot of games, but I don't think either of them has seen Wylie play this season. Maybe I am wrong, but I'm not usually. Even if they HAVE seen Wylie play, that hardly determines what is going to happen on a Friday night. Sometimes two teams play each other twice within the same season and each has a very different outcome. Has your research shown you that?

Of course Alvarado is the favorite to win. They deserve to be. They are playing some darn good football. I think we will just go ahead and show up for the hell of it.

So you're giving Lindale a chance against your Lions but not Abilene Wylie against Alvarado?? Comical. Sideline to Sideline?? Those guys are great and know a lot of HS football. But even their opinion is subjective because they can't keep up with every team.

So what research data are you using? If you're just going by scores, stats, and schedules... you're lost. IMO, you really have to know the strengths and weaknesses of each team. Bonus if you've been able to see a team play.

I look at stats myself plus I get the privelege to watch this Alvarado team play... I have seen film of Wylie Vs several teams this year and as a former coach, they are solid and big.. They are lacking an impact player. Someone who just changes a game.. The are fundamentally sound and do not make a lot of mistakes. Theyre wel coached. Having seen both teams I feel Alvarado "is" on another level. They have all the peices to totally dominate the game tonight. Will they? That remains to be seen. It will take an amazing game from Wylie tonight. They may pull off the upset and Ill be the first one here saying good job.. But if Alvarado shows up tonight and plays like they normally do.. Alvarado wins..

They are lacking an impact player. Someone who just changes a game.. The are fundamentally sound and do not make a lot of mistakes. Theyre wel coached. Having seen both teams I feel Alvarado "is" on another level. They have all the peices to totally dominate the game tonight. Will they? That remains to be seen. It will take an amazing game from Wylie tonight. They may pull off the upset and Ill be the first one here saying good job.. But if Alvarado shows up tonight and plays like they normally do.. Alvarado wins..

No injuries needed right now.. Seminole is up for the task I gaurantee you that. Held them under 100 yds total offense and 5 first downs. They were punishing our runners though.

Alvarado was very impressive. A couple of really good athletes and several pretty average looking kids that execute really well. It is obvious that they are well coached and have worked hard. Good luck going forward - hope Alvarado does well!
