ROYSE CITY - Stephen Buckley's 29 yard touchdown run with 1:08 remaining in the game capped a wild final two minutes of the game and propelled North Forney (10-1) to a 34-28 Class 3A Division II Region II Bi-District Playoff win over Wills Point (4-7) at Royse City ISD Stadium. With the score tied at 21 with just over two minutes remaining Wills Point took a 28-21 lead on a fourth and goal touchdown run by senior quarterback Dalton King.

North Forney answered in just four plays scoring on a 33 yard touchdown pass from Buckley to Daniel Anguiano to tie the game up at 28, that pass was Buckley's third touchdown toss of the night. On the ensuing possession North Forney defensive back Armon Franklin recovered a Wills Point fumble and NFHS would quickly take advantage with Buckley scoring on the first play after the miscue.

Buckley would finish the night with 157 yards passing and three touchdowns along with 55 yards rushing and a touchdown. Wills Point was led by senior quarterback Dalton King who threw for 297 yards and two touchdowns and he ran for two other scores.

North Forney will take on three time defending Class 3A State Champion Carthage next Friday night at 7:30pm at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler in a 3A Division II Region II Area Playoff. 1

Congrats to North Forney. I know the Falcons will be excited to play Carthage next week in Tyler Rose Stadium. Every D2 team still in the mix will be intently interested in the outcome of this game. Best wishes in your battle next Friday night.

NF will have to play the perfect game and Carthage play terrible for it to even be close. It's still not the Forney of old.
