I am so glad we have Overtime now instead of Penetrations. It REALLY SUCKS losing on Penetrations!!! Anyone remember what year the change took place?

When a team enters the 20 yard red zone it was called a penetration.Whoever had the most was the winner. If that was tied also they went to first downs. If that was tied they went with total yards gained to advance the winner.

OT rule most likely changed in 1992 after Burnet went to state with 3 playoff game ties in 1991......Vernon 20-20, Marrble Falls 14-14 and Southlake Carroll 7-7. bwnwdlionfan may be correct on 1996, I really don't know, but Burnet's run caused quite a stir around here.
