Yea I'm thinking them...

Seen all their games on film and last night was first time I've seen them in person.. No where near the level they need to be at to contend..

While I agree that they are not what they have been for the last three years, I still think you may be selling them a little short. They are just young and inconsistent this year, but they have the ability to play "up" to the level of competition they face. BTW, Liberty-Eylau has a way of making a team look that way with the speed of their defense. If L-E had any offense at all they could contend. I wouldn't judge Carthage's team by one game. That would be a mistake, because they could definitely slip up on you if you underestimate them. I agree that they won't 4-peat this year, however. I'm not sure there's a team in D2 in East Texas that is championship caliber at this point, but there are several that could get on a roll. East Texas was very competitive this year.

You need to remember what you saw last night was Carthage playing at the level they were challanged at. The stronger the team the better they are, ask Gilmer, Chapell Hill and Henderson.
If you think Argyle will beat them, you will fall in the same trap everybody else has for the past three years. I was there last night and they did not play half as good as they did against Gilmer, Chapell Hill, or Henderson.
Remember who the coach is. I believe they will meet Gilmer in the Quarter finals, they will get one of the starting linebackers back this week. I do agree they are not near as good as last year, but they seem to play at what ever level they need to. The 9 sophmores are truly amazing and there are several juniors that will impress you. Number 20 Trent Jackson at Linebacker is 6ft 190lbs and a junior was outstanding last night, he will tear your head off when he hits you. He also ran the ball in short yardages plays. If Argyle wins the game, they will either be well prepared for the next round or to beat up to win the next game. God Bless and safe travel tothe games.

Doesn't Argyle have to get through Prosper first. They were not up to the task in week 4.

That's true. Prosper beat Argyle to the tune of 35-14 earlier in the season. As a matter of fact, Argyle hasn't even beaten Commerce yet (they likely will....but just saying), Prosper hasn't beaten Wilmer-Hutchins yet, AND Carthage still has to beat the winner of North Forney / Wills Point.

I am projecting a Carthage / Prosper matchup, but that's definitely not in stone.
