Playoffs are a bit different and comparing the outcome of the Mathis game to the Wharton game may not be accurate. Because they have a small QB doesn't really mean squat. Looke at Ingleside's Marquise Barrorle. You would never think that with his size he would be able to break some of the tackles that LB's have put on him this season. Ingleside needs to play every game as if it is their last and they can make a really good run.

First off, wharton should have been the third place team in D29 but sweeny goofed up and let them steal a game from them while suffering some injuries to key players. In my opinion, the way it turned out, Sweeny got the better draw with sinton cause i dont think they could handle Ingleside and i surely don't expect wharton to run with them either. I think if sinton and ingleside plays 10 games, ingleside wins 7 of the 10. Not saying that sweeny will take the sinton game but i think if they take care of the football and sinton bobbles, it could spell an upset. My guess, Ingleside 38 wharton 17

HONESTLY, Wharton controlled this game. They spotted Ingleside 14 points in the first 4 minutes because of a botched KO return. Tigers fought back with QB Grissom leading the way. Mustang defense had absolutely no answer for Wharton offense giving up TDs on wharton's first 3 drives and ending the half on 2 yd line as Wharton tried for the Td instead of the FG (which could have very easily been a TD if they hadnt lost 30 or seconds after the clock kept rolling when their receiver got out of bounds. I'm still confused about that.).

Several times Wharton gave up long pass plays when their defender was right there but failed to make the play on the ball, one of which resulted in about a 70o yard TD for the Mustangs. Tigers played sorta sloppy, left points off the board but controlled both lines of scrimmage and came up with 3 HUGE stops on defense in a row when they really had to with their backs upo against the wall. THEN, the starting QB goes out on 4TH DOWN and the backup comes in. He gets 4 yards on 4th and 5 and it looks grim for the Tigers. However, the defense gets a stop, and the Grissom comes back in and drives the Tigers down the field. Once again, he leaves the game, and the backup takes over. 3 plays later, i believe they are in the end zone.

Wharton coach has some king kong size balls and goes for two and the lead and GETS IT.

Tiger D comes back on the field against the potent mustang offense with 1:13 left on the clock and 3 timeouts and shuts down Ingleside offense, getting an INT on 4th down to seal the deal.

Great job Tigers, and hate to say it and rub salt in their wounds, but Ingleside was thoroughly overrated. They have 1 super bad mismatch with the twins, but average elsewhere I'd say. 0 defense (which could be due to all their best players going both ways.).


Anyways, proud of the Tigers representing D 29 so well. Should get an easy win next week. Wharton is loaded with speed.

I think Wharton is definitely headed in the right direction. Grissom will take them far, but these coaches have turned it around. For the sake of their program, i hope they get a bit more support from the community, better facillities and hang on to this coach and his staff. The two games that Ingelside lost this year were due to 2 point conversions being converted in the final minutes of the game. Two good teams that played hard. There can only be one winner.
