Is there a player in 3A this season who you think can single-handedly take over and win games? Not just good---but dominant...

Cheesy, I know---but I'm just curious on the responses.

I don't know about all of 3A...but if Keenon Ward (Snyder) is on the field, I wouldn't bet against him. He's one of those kids that can make things happen. He's fun to watch!

I'll say Labradford Barnes QB @ Henderson

Keenon Ward, but he may not have enough help to get to the big dance.

One's I've seen who fit in this category:

Javelle Allen- Prosper

Wayne Onderdonk- Alvarado

Tyler Bates. Teams are afraid to pass his way. His vertical and 40 are absolutely ridiculous...
Wayne Onderdonck. He has this horrible habit of falling forwards and getting atleast 5 extra yards after he begins his tumble.
Jake Glasscock. He can hit harder than anyone I've ever seen. He squats at least 600 pounds.

Done with my homerisms.

Against weak teams sure there are lots of them. IMO, no player can single-handedly do that against a decent team. I watched Adrian Peterson get beat by an avg playoff team. I watched Jermie Calhoun get shut down against decent teams. 1 player on an otherwise avg team will not get it done. Dalton Santos may be the best LB in the state but if his D line was trash he wouldn't stand a chance against several O-lineman every play. This year Athens has maybe the best 3A athlete in the state and they are struggling to win games.

None really stick out this year IMO.

From an offensive standpoint the best defender I have ever played against was Alan Dock from Giddings. Was named to the Austin American Statesman's All-Decade first team at linebacker for the Central Texas Area in December 2009. Tallied 539 tackles, 25 caused fumbles, 11 fumble recoveries, four pass break-ups and four interceptions in his career. Was a three-time Class 3A first-team all-state selection .

The best offensive player I ever played against was Derek Evans from Cameron Yoe. Had it not been for grades he would of been able to go to any college of his choice. 6'4" 190 lbs in and was the 9th ranked player in the state of Texas according to Rivals. Played kicker, punter, WR, QB, and DB. His senior year this was his receiving stat line

60 catches 1,079 yards 12 td's

Sherman Gilbert from Coldsprings is legit. Dennis Smith from Wimberley has not played much this year but he is coming on in last 2 games and he is a physical talent.

Kadarius Baker is definitely a difference maker for Navasota, but is not on the level some of these other kids are. His receivers and blocking bolster him.

I'll say Labradford Barnes QB @ Henderson

Maybe in a year or so...he is a Soph. & he gets rattled...has trouble with a good defense.

Devine's Joseph Sadler has 2884 yds with 46 tds after his performance last night in a comeback win with 466 yards and 5 tds. Devine trailed against Hondo entering the 4th qtr and came back to win 47-27!

Without a doubt, Javelle Allen from Prosper fits this description. He can put the team on his back and take them from the outhouse to the penthouse in one quarter.

Labradford is a Sr. He has trouble with an O-line not blocking and receivers not running good routes. The trouble with good defenses is not his, it's his teammates.

And all but 3 games only played 2qrts. IMO, he could have had 3500-4000 / 50-60TDs if he would of played till the 4th.

QB Baker for Navasota may not be dominant in the strict sense of the term, but his stats are pretty damn impressive.

Passes Attempted 216
Passes Completed 147
Completion percentage 67.1

Passing Yards 2302

Passing Touchdowns 34

Interceptions 2

He also has added nearly 400 yards rushing on the year. Pretty damned good for a first year starter.

Ricky Seals Jones of Sealy. Kid is a game changer.

You are right about the Sealy QB/Ath. That is the real deal. He can beat you running or passing, on offense or defense, and even in special teams. Sealy has alot of good players, but, they would not be nearly the team they are without that guy. In my opinion, if you control the QB for Sealy, you should win. He makes that whole team look so much better because of the multiple threat he is.

Jordan Barnes Van Alstyne 2356 yds rushing with the 525 yd night vs Farmersville and 28 TD's total for the year. He does have a very good O-line, but Jordan does alot after 1st contact.

Wow if he only played two qrts in most games doesnt say much for the schedule, although numbers are sure impressive

Edward Pope, #1, Carthage Bulldogs. At safety, he takes away half of the field. If you test him, nine times out of ten you fail.

I will also throw in Brennen Blakemore WR/DB/KR/PR. A great competitor and has the BEST hands I have ever seen.
