I know Burk defeated Brownwood in 4

West and BP were in game 5 last I heard. Wylie gets winner of that one.

Anybody know about Big Spring/Vernon?

Any other scores around the state?

You are right, not the greatest poll. I would put Lovejoy #1, Argyle #2 and Propser #3. Prospers losses are to Lovejoy, Argyle and a 4A Frisco Liberty. If Maxpreps is correct then Wimberley has more losses and some to lower ranked or unranked teams. It's a shame that all three top teams come out of the same district and only one will represent at State. All three of these teams deserve to be in San Marcus. I'd like to see Prosper get a chance to play Wimberley (not at state, because that would mean Lovejoy would be out). Prosper is the only 3A school that Lovejoy lost a game to, Lovejoy won 3-1 at Prosper. The lady leopards are use to 3-0.

No disrespect to those teams, but I'm not so sure Abilene Wylie isn't better this year than last. I think they are taller and more athletic. Lovejoy maybe better this year as well. Decatur looks to be a pretty good team too. So I don't know if all three teams in your district are necessarily 3 of the best 4 teams in the state and tournament deserving.

Another Decatur/Abiliene game tonight - Abiliene has always been the Eagles nemesis in all sports in the playoffs. Decatur coming in as #10 but that is misleading. Their 3 losses have all been to #2 and #4 Argyle and Prosper. They beat 2A #1 last week in a tune up for the playoffs for both. Gonna be a great match. Go Eagles. I expect tonight's match to be a great one. The Wylie girls know that Decatur will be tough, to say the least and will be a major roadblock in their effort to return to the state tourney. Congratulations to the lady Pirates. It was a heck of a match and in the end your size was a little to much to over come. I had a real bad feeling after we dropped game 3 when we were up 21-19 with the serve. The community couldn't be prouder of our girls, they finished up 42-7 which is the best in school history and hopefully set the foundation for many more runs into the state tournament.

I've been reading up on Sinton and it looks like they are building a quality program with a good coach. Good luck Friday, (you are going to need it). Please stick around Saturday to watch Lovejoy win their 4th 3A state championship in a row. Back-to-back-to-back-to-back... This year will be historic. No 3A team has ever won 4 in a row. This is Lovejoy's 4th year of Varisty competition. We won in 09 with our upper classmen being Juniors, and the tournament MVP was a sophmore.

I just confirmed this morning that I won't be able to come down for the tournament. My daughters have events that conflict with the tournament. Looks like I won't be able to watch Sinton, AW or Tarkington. I wonder if this years games will be on TV or the internet.

This is actually the volleyball team's 5th year of varsity. Several of the Lovejoy teams went varsity a year before the football team did. The first year was '07 when they lost to White Oak in the Regional tournament. The team had only Freshmen and Sophomores that 1st year of varsity. You can check it out on MaxPreps.com.

I would love to face AW in the finals, however I don't want AW to get the points as both schools chase the Lonestar cup. Anybody but Lovejoy wins and it will be an upset. Don't know why Ebony isn't in for Lovejoy, she didn't play the whole set. She is our Jr. USC commit... We changed up a lot of our lineups. There could be injuries or Coach Mitchell could be trying some different looks.

Uh....I know who she is, that's why I asked. LOL. She's a BEAST!

The announcers in the gym didn't even announce her name in the lineup. Weird.

Very true. Three in a row against anybody is tough but especially LJ. Last year in semis we went down 0-2 to Wimberely and came back to win 3rd and 4th set. We lost in the 5th. Maybe that was a bad example. Haha. Anyway, Sinton is not done yet!!!!!!!!

FYI, the LJ announcer said more than once that Sinton was by the best team LJ has faced in the playoffs. Just saying...
