Lampasas and a few other schools didn't submit for rankings but Lampasas did easily defeat Wimberly and Fredricksburg in the fall. Wylie should win state yet again

Also I'm not sure if Wylie returns their two number one guys that won state in indivduals last year. I think they were both seniors.

Wylie has 8 team tennis state titles in last 10 years. Kids around here definitely know their tennis.

Assume he was referring to the #1 doubles team? Also, regarding "individuals", tennis has two separate competitions/seasons: individual and team. In the team competition, the entire team from the winning school advances to the next level (including the players that lose their matches). During the individual season, only the individuals (including doubles teams) from each school that win their matches advance.

If Holcomb2012 was referring to Wylie's doubles team that won State last year (Fowlkes and Bumann), they were Juniors, so will be returning.

Wimberly has a doubles team this year that has a shot to make a run at state. They also have a freshman who is already the number one singles player on the team. After that Wimberly is not a very deep team which will hurt them this year.

The only reason I bumped them off was to put Lampasas at 4 since we easily beat number 6 Boerne and number 7 Fredricksburg, we also won a close one against 4th ranked Wimberley so thats why I put Lampasas at 4. Lampasas is not orignally on the list because they did not submit scores for a ranking

Wharton used to be state ranked but not as strong as in previous years-Roben Eller has been coach there almost 25 years

A couple buddies of mine have daughters on the #2 ranked Lovejoy tennis team and both of them are very involved in the program and they say it's Abilene's Championship to lose. AW appears to be head and shoulders above everyone else this year, kind of like Lovejoy Volleyball.

Great, can Lovejoy host the volleyball tourney? Seems like they do already! :)

I hope to get to see a Wylie/Lovejoy volleyball matchup this year. We took Wimberley to 5 sets in semis last year but fell just short of getting to play the champs. Maybe this year will be different!! There's a few more teams that will have something to say about that, though. :)
