If Cuero will hold on the to the ball and disrupt Sam in the backfield they should rattle them enough to win. Just don't pay attention to the intimidation taunt they love to do during warm-ups! Like I have stated they do not have any discipline!

Cuero...you guys have struggled, taken so much undue criticism yet fought through the adversity and now have a legitimate shot at the playoffs and even the district title....This is of course a must win and I look for the Gobblers to keep the momentum going and be 4-1 when the dust has cleared ...Good luck against SH...:clap:

I know Sam Houston got shut out by Gonzales and La Vernia, but I think the Hurricanes rebound and get back into the playoff hunt with a win over the Gobblers. Just don't see Cuero making the playoffs this season. I'm picking Sam Houston in this one, 27-14. We all know Gonzales will go undefeated and win the District 28-3A title, but the race is on for the 2nd and 3rd playoff spots. Heading into this week, the standings look like this, along with who they have left:
1. Gonzales 4-0 8-0 (hosts La Vernia, at Cuero)
2. Cuero 3-1 3-5 (at Sam Houston, hosts Gonzales)
3. La Vernia 3-1 4-4 (at Gonzales, hosts Pleasanton)
4. Yoakum 2-2 5-3 (at Poteet, hosts Sam Houston)
5. Sam Houston 2-2 6-2 (hosts Cuero, at Yoakum)
6. Pleasanton 1-4 2-7 (BYE, at La Vernia)
7. Poteet 0-5 0-9 (hosts Yoakum, BYE)

Key games this weekend will be La Vernia at Gonzales and Cuero at Sam Houston on Saturday. After these games, we will have a good idea what to expect heading into the final week.

Cuero is struggling , but the kids aren't quitting! I've seen both teams play , it should be hard fought! I still have to give the edge to the Gobblers in this one. Although we are having a rough season, the guys usually find a way to make the playoffs!
