Looking in on the Caller website (http://prepsports.caller.com/football/boys/schedules/games/3873/preview/) on paper these teams appear to be mirror images, but the game isn't played on paper and the SINTON PIRATES aren't about to give up their district title to the likes of Mathis! :twitch:

We can not afford to have a slow start like we did against Aransas Pass. Expect Mathis to come in knowing they need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. And Mathis would love nothing better than to hand Sinton their first district loss and ruin our shot at a SOLO district title.

I predict a 7 point SINTON Pirate victory.

Sinton by 4 TDsThat type of qb has given Sinton problems this year, they'll stop the run but not so sure they'll stop the qb from gaining some good yardage and scrambling to find a receiver open. Sinton almost back to being as close as they can be on health department,so hopefully they come out with no more injuries.

Sinton vs Mathis, last two have gone down to the last seconds, i expect it to be another great game by both teams with the game decided late.

How hard will it be to get a seat on the Sinton side? I'm going to the game on Friday, but more to see my little sisters perform in the Mathis band than to see the game. Is it possible to move to the visitor's side after halftime? I don't like the thought of sitting with Sinton-folk for an entire game. :p

I think Sinton will pull away in the second half. Not that I think Mathis won't make it a game, but Sintons defense will wear them down in the rushing department eventually. Mathis will have to go to a balanced offense to keep the game close. Sinton QB seems to be playing better down the stretch. This should be a good rivalry game.

It didn't seem that way to me. It seems if your team is undefeated and playing for a playoff birth you should be able to fill a visitor's stand the size of Ingleside's.

I thought Mathis had a pretty good turn out, Ingleside's visitors side has plenty of room even 4a Beeville with all their fans didn't fill it up and that was a huge game. Other than probly Rockport, Ingleside has probly the most seating in the district.

We still have the option of adding a temporary blecher like we did in the playoffs last year for West Columbia.
I agree Goliad is too low. That must be under the old blechers because they have made much improvement in the last couple of years.

That number was before Ingleside rnovated their bleachers. Capacity is now around 3300 on home side and 3000 on visitors.

Sinton defense played great last night and continue to get better on both sides of the ball. Sinton defense held Mathis to 6 first downs, forced 6 three and out possessions and two interceptions. Gave up a flea flicker pass for a 61 yd td pass otherwise would have held Mathis to 102 total yards of offense. Great job Sinton Pirates!!!

I understand that part, but here is my logic and maybe I am wrong. If Team A beats Team B and Team B beats Team C, but Team C beats Team A, then how can Team A be considered solo champs? Both Team A & B are 4-1 and regardless of Teams C's record, Team A lost to them while Team B won.

At any rate, I don't think that is going to happen, but I would think my logic makes sense.

That is correct. The district championship means only a championship but no advantage for Sinton if Mathis beats Rockport-Fulton since it will be in Division 1. But if Rockport wins then Sinton would be seeded No. 1 even if they are tied in District.
