stephenville 37
killeen 33

With about 5 minutes left, stephenville drove down and scored a TD to cut the score to sville 28 killeen 33. Killeen had been running the ball pretty good the second half so they were doing that trying to run the clock out but fumbled so stephenville had the ball with about 3 minutes left on the 20+/- yard line. The second play of that drive they threw an interception so now Killeen had the ball, with about 2 minutes left on about their own 2 yard line. After a few plays and a couple timeouts killen had a 4th and about 7 so they called timeout, they come out, quarterback runs around in the end zone for several seconds and they take the safety. With approximately 1 minute left it is sville 30 killeen 33 with, due to the safety, the free kick coming up.

Killeen opted to kick off instead of punt, they hadn't done a real kick off all night, just little pooch kicks causing stephenville to fair catch but if they did that here stephenville would get the ball on their side of the 50 yard line. The kicker has a good kick, kind of pins the stephenville receiver to the killeen side line at about the 25. They executed on defense before and stopped stephenville, got the safety like they planned, and now stephenville was going to have half a field to go with only 50 seconds and no timeouts, BUT apparently they hadn't practiced their tackling and the stephenville guy ran it back for a touchdown.

So with the score sville 37 killeen 33, killen had the ball, after the kickoff on about their 10 yard line and no timeouts. I don't know if they had completed a pass yet all night, their passing game is terrible. They tried a few long passes and eventually turned the ball over on downs.

Stephenville is way over-rated right now without Aiavion in the backfield, they struggle to move the ball.

was a good ball game though...

Unfortunately for Stephenville, they came out worldbeaters at the beginning and after a few key injuries they are not near the level they were. If they can find that magic again they can be very good. If not it will be another year of dissappoinent for the jackets.

no reason there shouldn't be a regional final of aledo vs stephenville part 3 this season...

We got to beat Waco in the regular season finale to avoid Aledo until the 4th round. If Waco beats us will catch the Bearcats in the 2nd round. We need that extra time to get every back with a few games under them. Waco right now is the team to beat in 8-4A. They are playing the best ball in the whole district.

Killeen pretty much owned the line of scrimmage in the 2nd half until the last 4 minutes. The Jacket OL did not play well at all. The Jackets were also missing one of their best LBs, #11 Holton Westbrook and it showed. We are definitely going to have to play better up front than we have the last two games or Waco will whip our @$$.

The speed that Preston Brown displayed last night was very impressive.
