I hate it when loud mouthed home team fans sit on the visitors side!!! I understand that in some situations it's unavoidable, but when the home stands are literally maybe 1/4 full and visiting fans have some know it alls from the home team making derogatory comments about our kids/program in our ears, inevitably someone is gonna get mad. It's never quiet fans that do this. It's always some hillbilly with no filter on his mouth and who has no regard for the fact that he is bad mouthing a player whose parents are quite possibly in ear shot. Add to that that the jr high kids from the home team are allowed to roam freely on the visiting side and harass young kids from the visiting side and boy you have a recipe for a brawl. It makes me realize why some stadiums don't allow fans to cross over from side to side.

For the record...I'm not talking about Snyder's "welcoming committee". I know most Snyder fans are embarassed by that group and Snyder is revamping their stands to accommodate their fans adequately. I have honestly never sat on Wylie's visiting side so there may even be some of our fans that do this and I'm just not aware of it. I hope not but I know we are not immune to stupid fans. I just had to get off my chest that I HATE it when this occurs and tonight I came very close to losing my cool over it. You can mess with me but don't mess with my kids!!!!!!!

Other than that it was a great night and I feel better now that I have vented!

saw something happen like that last season...

my brother and i were at the brownwood vs bridgeport playoff game in stephenville, we were sitting on the visitor side, which was bridgeport's side...
about game time, both sides were pretty full, but there were a significant number of brownwood fans on the bridgeport side, which at first wasn't a big deal, bridgeport fans pretty much knew things had to be perfect, plus a few miracles, for them to have a fighting chance at winning, so it was a pretty laid back atmosphere...

At some point during the game, i can't quite remember when (i think early 2nd quarter) a bridgeport player was injured on a play and laying on the field, so both training staffs were out there looking at him. It was one of those injury timeouts that took several minutes. Well, after a couple of minutes a couple of students from brownwood start heckling the injured brownwood player telling him to get up because he is killing the grass (while the field is turf nonetheless) and apparently the mom of the injured player was about 2 rows down and 3 people over from this kid...

my brother and i thought there was going to be a murder in the stands, those kids had no idea how big of idiots they looked like...several adults from bridgeport said something to them, and eventually escorted the mom to a different part of the stands, eventually the kids left but they came back after halftime...

was a good playoff football atmosphere until that happened, i think brownwood ended up blowing out bridgeport....

perfectly understandable, you only said what so many of us have experienced, was even a carthage guy sitiing dead in the center of the coldspring student section in last years final game at cowboy stadium trying to stir things up (there were only 60,000 other seats available), contrary to the rest of the carthage fans that were great....

I don't get it either, but there are some people who simply enjoy being behind enemy lines and seem to feed off the negative energy they get when they cheer for the opponent on the wrong side of the field..
