Earlier today, my niece's toddler fell into a rain barrel at my sister's house in Sinton and nearly drowned. He's in a hospital intensive care unit in Corpus Christi. His name is Gage and he needs all of our prayers. I would appreciate it if my Downlow family would see fit to pitch in with prayers. I will try to update when we know more.

thank you for the privilege of praying for your niece's son....my wife just sent the request out to the worldwide group she had praying for me in my time of need, and when she lost our baby....there was a sweet african prayer warrior of a lady that actually told my wife the name we had decided on naming our son without ever having heard the name from us, THATS how in touch some of these people are...

please touch the hearts of every one of that family, including that poor mom hurting SO much.....

Thank all of you for your prayers. Please keep them coming. Gage is in "guarded" condition. The prognosis is good, but there is still a long way to go. I understand they plan to start reducing the oxygen to eventually get him off of it completely. I'll update when I know more.

Praise be to God! Facebook update from my niece:

"Dr says 90% chance he will live a normal life in a few months with no long term lung damage. Looks bad on xray but good on physical. Going to drop his oxygen again for an hour and if all is good, after his tummy is empty bye bye breathing tube."

I can't tell you all how much your prayers are appreciated, there are no words. You folks are the best.

"Ok today's update: Gage is breathing better but he has to work a little too hard still to come off the vent. So they've dropped the settings allowing him to work more but with support. Maybe he can be extubated tomorrow. Thx for all the prayers."

Still a ways to go yet. I'm confident God is hearing all of our prayers. Thanks again friends.
